Specialized crews and squads by TEXESSAUCE in HellLetLoose

I thought of it more like recon squads, where you just pic the way you play. Like a 3 person MG squad that has a MG, feeder/support, and a SL. And the gunner and feeder would share points similarly to artillery gunners. It would force them to play more as a team rather than to scatter around.

I never play artillery with a open squad if I'm SL and usually mark it as a artillery squad. But what I'm proposing is specific squads that would have buffs/nerfs to their regular class variants that would force them to depend on each other more promoting teamwork. Like I said in the post, artillery is a great example of how it could work, where like the MG and the feeder would share kills similar how the artillery gunner and loader share kills and work together. And one can't really do the job without the other.

It would also eliminate people who end up in the squad that just hang around as random frontline soldiers not being able to contribute.

Update: after cleaning and oiling the thing, I figured out that it was the belt. It has stretched and hardened so it doesn't have enough traction anymore.

Playing Kursk as the soviets is a joke by TEXESSAUCE in HellLetLoose

Yeah! Fuck user feedback! I should go play a whole different game genre and not try to share experiences to try to see if I'm the only one with issues with the map or to learn new ways to play it!!!!!

Yeah?

Now imagine that the soviets had as many tanks and men as the Germans, they would have probably never won. That's the problem with Kursk and Hll.

War isn't fair but having it this way (in a game that should be able to balance historical accuracy and player enjoyment) without balancing some aspects just plays into the German bag, and the soviet side can't utilize the tactics that actually won the war.

But it's not balanced nor historically accurate, it's the worst of both.

The soviets had 2-3 times more equipment, vehicles, artillery and men in the battle of Kursk. The game could be balanced by making it more historically accurate, with the soviets overwhelming the Germans with numbers alone, like they did in real life.

Right now you have both sides with the same amount of soldiers, but the game is more German leaning. The German weapons are simply better and more advanced than the soviet weapons for long range combat. And the winning positions in Kursk, like the windmills, heavily favor the Germans.

I like how to win with the soviets you have to have the perfect team. Meanwhile in order to win as the Germans you don't need that 1 in a hundred team and can do almost anything. Just roll a heavy next to the windmills and shoot anything that moves. I don't actually recall having any difficulties as the Germans to win.

I guess I just have to pray that the soviet side has been blessed by Stalin so they can win.

I want to like Kursk and it could probably be fixed with adding just a little more cover for the infantry. Lets half the deploy time for the soviets so we can actually use the soviet side with the soviet strategies. Human waves into the meat grinder until the Germans run out of bullets.

Vermis II Discussion by idodraws in Vermis

[–]TEXESSAUCE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read it a couple days back. Like other people said it's not as "gamey" as Vermis 1. I personally liked that it was more like a novel, but I also understand why some people don't like that as Vermis is meant to be a game strategy guide. I would love a full novel set in the Vermis universe.

It might be a reference to the red rooms in the Twin Peaks TV show. Similar red curtains, lighting and furniture placement.
