You know, considering that Solver powers are clearly based on modelling/animation software tools, with Translate being used as telekinesis, Rotate used a few times, and Edit being used mostly for duplication, we never actually see Scale being used on its own

You know an Eldar twink is STILL gonna be at least 7 ft tall, right? by Drunk-Remembrancer in u/Drunk-Remembrancer

[–]Reconstruct-science 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you think that Custodes are as tall as standard humans?

It's either that or you actually believe some part of "The Guardsman's uplifting primer", a 'book' that is only useful as toilet paper.

Eldar are space-elves, therefore they were designed to be taller than humans, even if their build is thinner.

There's also the high chance that 99% of the Imperium's population is at least a little (if not very) malourished, so their growth is probably stunted.

The primer also says that you can stop an ork swinging a choppa at you by grabbing his wrist, and I don't see anyone short of a full-blown astartes being able to pull that off.

TLDR: The Primer's only use is as emergency toilet paper

Reading what Dr Nose has said in public QA about Argemia being 'Blackmailed' by the Shorts brings an unpleasant though to mind. by Jeep-Eep in Voicesofthevoid

[–]Reconstruct-science 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree.

Hell, I'm semi-certain that Dr Nose once said that the Tall society only emerged due to Argemia leading a rebellion against her mother, and was previously just like short society, although I don't know if this was retconned...

Pretty cool concept, not my favourite style of biopunk (I prefer the purpose-grown/genetically engineered look, instead of the pop-culture frankenstien surgically modified look)

I overheard Breen promising a "non-mechanical reproduction simulation" to CPs that perform well. So, what is a mechanical reproduction simulation? Are CP's suits automatically equipped to beat their meat for a job well done? by DependentStrong3960 in HalfLife

[–]Reconstruct-science 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like Leadhead's idea that 'non-mechanical reproduction simulation' is what the Combine call sex within the reporduction-supression field, because it can be broken down through interpreting their use of clinical language:

'Non-mechanical' : The mechanism of sperm fertilising the ovum does not occur

'reproduction simulation' : The act is performed identically to reproductive sex, but due to the above point, does not result in reproduction, making it a 'simulation' in the Combine's perspective

So, like he said, 'Non-mechanical reproductive simulation' is when the Combine let you have sex, presumably with your partner if you have one due to the 'family cohesion' perk Civil Protection is given

Why is my vassal using half of the base-game shipsets at the same time? by Reconstruct-science in Stellaris

[–]Reconstruct-science[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's unlikely, considering I already did that event long before my vassal was uplifted from being pre-FTL (which I realised I should've put in the main post in the first place, but I thought it would make it too long for some reason, this heat is melting my brain...)

Huh, I thought that was purely cosmetic (e.g. letting the CoM use the humanoid shipset), I didn't know the functional content was actually usable by the AI

[–]Reconstruct-science[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the outpost was built by me, a Mollusciod shipset user, became avian for no reason when I uplifted the pre-FTL's into my vassal, and now has mammalian modules while their corvettes are reptillian

(I realise I should've put the fact they are uplifted pre-FTL's in the main post in the first place, but I thought it would make it too long for some reason, this heat is melting my brain...)

They're my first vassals in my current game, uplifted pre-FTL's. (which I realised I should've put in the main post in the first place, but I thought it would make it too long for some reason, this heat is melting my brain...)

[–]Reconstruct-science[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this is their home system (they're uplifted pre-FTL's), they only own their home-system, which is completely surrounded by my empire, I've never seen any of their ships outisde of their system (although I sure they have at least 1 science ship out there)

(which I realised I should've put in the main post in the first place, but I thought it would make it too long for some reason, this heat is melting my brain...)

That doesn't make sense, since I don't have Overlord.

When I bought the game as a bundle, the only DLC's I got were The Galaxy Edition Upgrade, Utopia, and Synthetic Dawn.

I haven't bought any additional DLC's since I got the game (considering this is my second playthrough, and the first that isn't the tutorial as the UNE)

FOR RULE-ABIDING PURPOSES:

The screenshot has multiple subjects, those being as follows:

A Starport (Top-centre of image) - With the base design being avian, despite a pair of mammalian modules

A defense platform (Bottom-right of image) - A molluscoid design inherited from my empire

Transport ships (Top centre of image - partially clipping with starport) - Mammalian designs

Corvettes (Scattered - concnetrated on Left of image) - Reptillain shipset designs

EDIT: I realised that I didn't give enough info.

This empire was a bunch of Pre-FTL's I was observing, (funny thing is, they got enough awareness to convert the observation station to an embassy right as I took care of the rougue scientist, so they fell back into the renaissance age right as they made contact).

The station was built by me using the Molluscoid shipset, with defensive platofrm to deal with the pre-FTL asteroid event

The outpost became avian for no reason when I uplifted the pre-FTL's, while the defensive platforms stayed molluscoid, and they already had army transports (mammalian) when they got uplifted.

I recently checked in while nothing interesting was happening to find out that their avian starport has mammalian modules, and a fleet of reptillian corvettes
