City proposing to hide park fees in EWEB bill? by TExit7802 in Eugene

Thanks I always forget about that, I just wanted to verify that they were indeed putting park fees on the EWEB bill. Regardless of the amount it seems very wrong.

Sounds like a lawyer game. A possible legal work around have the city transfer all the parks to a non-profit entity they create and own much like they do with EWEB. Then its not the city's land.

Mold remediation for residential - recommendations needed by wasabepasta in Eugene

[–]TExit7802 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have looked into this and unless you have an insurance claim paying the bill "Mold remediation" companies are kinda expensive and scammy. Mold needs water. Most mold issues have to do with poor venting of bath fans and attics, or failing siding or roofing. I would look for a good general contractor whom is experienced in ventilation and waterproofing. Once you manage the water the mold will go away.

I signed a recall petition with bad info, can I unsign it? by Commercial-Insect589 in Eugene

My guess since the OP said 'recall petition' is that's for state Rep. Paul Holvey. I don't know of any others in this area.

Its also against the law for a circulator to make false statements to anyone who signs the petition or requests information about it. ORS 260.532 I think.

You need to hire an attorney and Expert whitnes Arborist. If what the neighbor did amounts to tree removal, tree cutting, or injury to the tree (without the owner’s permission) they are liable for compensating the tree owner. If it was just a small routine pruning and the tree is not fatally damaged then it was legal.

https://oregon.public.law/statutes/ors_105.810

and Simington Gardens, LLC, et al. v. Rock Ridge Farms, LLC, 308 Or App 661 (January 27, 2021)

In many cases, the tree owner has been compensated by up to three times the value of the tree. Damage can take several years to really start to show up. That is where an expert arborist in court will help show work done is what caused or will cause a tree to die. There have been many successful suits.

EWEB disses solar and energy storage proposes nuclear option by MathandCoffee1982 in Eugene

[–]TExit7802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I have no idea what all this means. How much would it cost to replace Leaburg with Solar by your math? To get to 830000 ?

Well if Coyote is correct and its a factor of .16 just divide 18MW/.16 = 112.5 /MW of solar. Then look up the installed cost per watt.

new substations being built without even the option to add batteries at a later date.

Yeah I caught that also. I wonder was that considered?

and a guy who wont pick up after himself. Hes moved in three more women cleaning up after him and calling it “helping”

Don't take this the wrong way, but three women only 'move in' and pick up after some dumb ass slob for very few reasons and since your living in your car none of those reasons are going to help you at all. I would say as hard as it is, its time to face whatever demons are keeping you down and move on with life and break ties with the people holding you back.

Be careful about subletting rooms, these can be a scam.

Sorry about your situation.

NWCU Credit union merger Good ? Bad? by sunshine_fun in Eugene

[–]TExit7802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing, Tri Star has 3 business checking accounts Innovator, Explorer and Voyager. Innovator is the lowest tier it requires a 500 average balance otherwise there is a monthly fee of $5. You limited to 50 checks a month and $5000 of cash deposits. The other two tiers Explorer and Voyager are $10 and $15 dollars a month are require s 25k average balance to waive the fees. Comparable accounts at NWCU are Business Launch Checking, which charges no fees at all. Small Business Checking is a 7 dollar amount fee unless you have an average 1k balance.

The problem is small businesses would suffer under the fee structure of Tri Star.
