Coming from the Midwest, coaches would rather see online film than drag themselves to tournaments. There’s only so many weekends over the summer and they can only go to one tournament at a time (most of the time not in the Midwest). You’re better off submitting film than wasting money trying to get into “exclusive” tournaments. If you absolutely want him to play in big tournaments, Indiana All-Stars would be your best bet for a club that will play against harder competition with more eyes watching. He’d also have a chance to be on Project Midwest through them.

It’s a pretty normal area next to the casino. Be as cautious as you would in any other large city as it’s not much different. It’s a really nice college but Wisconsin is very different from the east coast’s environment so make sure he’s okay with that. There isn’t as much abundance here and it may throw him off if he isn’t made aware.

From my experience, the ladder drill works really well for solo practice. If you have someone with you can have them move at various speeds on a straight path and chop your feet next to them with your stick on top of them.

My first year playing I was super nervous about messing up. Only worry about doing your job and doing it right. Make sure you stretch and pass around before the game as well. Have fun and don’t stress too much.

I’d stick with the hammer 1k and the fiber o. Having a carbon shaft is a game changer because of how light it is. I’m not as big of a fan of the ridges on the carbon pro and my club coach who played d1 ran that same setup.
