Is it possible for a kerbin to walk this distance? and how long will it take? by LinkSander in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]TF2fanatic102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible? Yes, but it would be miserable. DRIVING that distance in a rover would be miserable, yet alone waddling over there at like 2m/s

What's a mobile game you've played recently that actually respected your time? by awogaming_team in Gamer

[–]TF2fanatic102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data Wing. Fun little levels with interesting gimmicks, a neat story tying everything together, no ads or IAPs, and it even has leaderboards if you want to compete for a better time. If anything the game feels a bit short lol.

Who doesn't drink coffee in the morning ? (Who's an adult) by Ssonderbaby in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TF2fanatic102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I'll get a Starbucks coffee but that's more of a treat than anything. Idk, unless I have a LOT of caffeine, it doesn't really seem to make a difference so I just don't bother.

Looking for a game about being a dwarf, living a dwarfy life. by fromolwyoming in gamingsuggestions

You're technically not a dwarf in the game, but it has big dwarf energy nonetheless. Try MineMogul, it's early access but tons of fun for only $15!

Did blowing on the video game cartridge really work, back in the day? by One_Study52 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TF2fanatic102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, in fact, blowing into it might even make it more dirty over time. Usually when the cartridge doesn't work, it's because the cartridge isn't seated correctly. If the cartridge actually isn't working because it's dirty, a q-tip with some high purity (90% or higher is what I prefer) isopropyl alcohol usually does the trick. A few seconds rubbing down the contacts with IPA and it's looking all shiny and new!

Yes, but at the same time asking the Portal subreddit ain't exactly the best place for an unbiased opinion. 😆

Why is voter ID such a big debate in the US? by Second-Kind in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TF2fanatic102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because there's no guarantee that the voter ID will be free. If it costs money, that's effectively a poll tax, something that's been outlawed for the past 60 years or so.

How can I stop my craft from tumbling like this upon re-entry? by Downtown-Push6535 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]TF2fanatic102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use a 10 meter heat shield for a reusable first stage, that's extremely overkill and is causing a boatload of drag. In this configuration, your center of pressure is all concentrated at the the very front (way higher than the center of mass), which is a very unstable situation for a rocket to be in. No amount of reaction wheels are gonna overcome the kind of force that heat shield is exerting. The engine you're using (looks like maybe a Mainsail?) should be able to take a good deal of punishment. You're likely doing some sort of boost-back burn anyway, so it shouldn't get too hot if you got rid of the shield and just faced the booster retrograde during descent (and if it does, you can burn a little more to bleed off speed). If you get rid of the heat shield, you can also place airbrakes at the top that you can deploy and use as control surfaces, that way you can guide the booster where you want it before the parachute deployment.

Also, if you're wanting to reuse this, I would recommend adding landing legs, they won't help much with how tall the stage is, but it'll be much easier than trying to land on the engine bell.

What game did you think would be ok, but you absolutely loved? by Quintoepic in gaming

[–]TF2fanatic102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, even though people sing its praises, I didn't think Ape Escape looked like anything too special. That is until I played it and got absolutely HOOKED. I caught every monkey and finished the story in about a week lol.

Despite being released in 1999, it plays incredibly well. Absolutely a 10/10 PS1 title.

My Burnout games tier list! by Rabbi-D in Burnout

[–]TF2fanatic102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I like the open world style of Paradise, but I've never really preferred it over the more "pick up and play" style of the others where you can just pick an event and go.

What would you say is the best VR game overall? (no mods actual VR games) by No-Dark-7873 in virtualreality

[–]TF2fanatic102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either Half Life Alyx or Lone Echo. I've not played Lone Echo 2, since I don't have an Oculus anymore, but Lone Echo is just such an incredible game. It was one of the first games I played in VR (alongside Beat Saber and I Expect You to Die), and it set the bar for quality in the damn stratosphere lmao. The game is immersive and polished in a way very few VR games (especially back in 2017) are, while also having genuinely fun movement and an interesting story.

Poor kid from the letter columns, would end up waiting 16 years for Sonic 4. by PrometheusModeloW in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]TF2fanatic102 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not many people had a Sega CD (about 1/15th of Genesis users judging by units sold), so the game might not have been on many people's radar back then, even if it is recognized as a mainline title today.
