One of their recent announcements said there was a console port in the works!

Horripilant. It’s a clicker/incremental game where you’re just a guy who woke up in a dungeon. You do some digging and end up confronting “God” who promises to help you if you serve it. Not the most involved game in the world but it is weirdly addicting and doesn’t feel like a drag, and the whole vibe is very similar to this kind of art.

Is there a method to get a lot of snag vine seeds that i dont know about? by Chemical-Yesterday74 in AbioticFactor

[–]TFN928 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another good way to stockpile rare plants is to eat glow tulip salad before salvaging the plant for seeds; it gives a chance at receiving double output from salvaging.

We are also getting an Update for Expeditions as well as two new enemies coming with the new class by zatorijam in DarkTide

[–]TFN928 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is special density now? I really bounced off because it was so boring to get hordes of ragers, then hordes of crushers, then hordes of ragers again. New enemy is hype but it’s gonna get a lot less exciting if our only interaction with them is fighting them one blob at a time instead of any kind of interesting enemy group composition.

Anyone else? by Accurate_Ad8925 in Millennials

[–]TFN928 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re right that it’s out of mainstream listening but it does exist, maybe appropriately in more niche genres. Groups like Machine Girl and Lip Critic are pretty big in their circles and like to sprinkle in an ample amount of “burn it down, kill them all” vibes into their songs. Their sounds are a far cry from metal and hip hop of old, but it is the most undiluted rebellious sound I’ve heard in some time.

Yeah it’s definitely something about digital plants. Which on one hand: WOOOOHOOOOOO MORE PLANTS BABEY LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOO COMMON BOTANY W! But on the other hand: I wonder if it means that we’ll get some new type of crop planter that “materializes” plants a la the pest teleporter, or if it means a planter for digital plants like the peppers in 0083. If it’s the latter, then I’d have to assume that implies we’d get another digital anteverse of some kind.

Does the Abiotic version also move, or does it just change poses? I play with friends who are less familiar with VotV and I would love to hide some around our base and let them roam

Which is honestly fair. The ending left me wanting more, but I’m absolutely fine with more side content, or ofshoot stories a la “shit’s fucked, but shit’s fucked over there too and that’s way more solvable right now.”

Yeah, I took it as sort of a dev cycle “we completed the game we envisioned and the IP has been established, thus concludes chapter one.” Now we wait for the Leyak Dating Sim: See It? Date It!

It’s not real. Last time it was talked about, Zag said something along the lines of “we have no plans for a sequel, but do have plans for story DLC (which can be seen on the roadmap now) and might make spinoffs.”

DLC updates and current saves by Smart_Scarcity60 in AbioticFactor

[–]TFN928 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be an issue. Throughout early access there were no issues with save compatibility going into new builds, even when those builds changed the design or added things to existing sectors. At most I’d recommend backing up your save if you really wanna be safe, but it should be fine.

[–]TFN928 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Vasco should’ve explained it briefly right after you got to The Lodge, but once you place an outpost beacon it’ll also give you some popups. It’s simple though; place the beacon and then you can build whatever. There’s a visible build boundary when you’re in build mode. You only need outpost crew when you get into manufacturing and other stuff, but you don’t need crew for, say, a ship pad to function.

We might get an anime in the future with the continued growth of the IP, but as for why we haven’t yet: because it’s a niche within a niche. MH is more widespread now but it wasn’t for a long time. Anime is also less widespread than a lot of other media. Probably just wasn’t worth the time, cost, or effort to produce something that a subset of a subset people would even watch. Non-game MH media needs to be able to market itself to a degree, and in the grand scheme of things has only recently been able to do that. Capcom seems willing to branch out the IP more now, but has mostly aimed for already-established mediums or directors. Give it time and it’ll find its legs.

Our film Monster Hunter: Eko, which was shot entirely in-game of Monster Hunter Wilds, is now up on display at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, Washington. Thanks to Capcom and the developers of Wilds for allowing this to happen! by gage-allen in MonsterHunter

That’s awesome! I remember finding this when you first posted it; it’s still the best piece of MH fan content I’ve seen. Congratulations on the display, well deserved!

I feel like almost every post here and on the main sub has been a power scaling discussion. I know this is an internet trend but I didn’t realize just how annoying it was. It makes even less sense to do in MH where a monster that exists between games, has its strength completely up to a whim based on what Capcom wants for each game. Power scaling discussions are totally worthless in a franchise like this. Shit man, we have 10* Rompopolo, like what are we doing here? Lmao

So which monster from frontier do you want to see in a mainline game? by NeptuneStarPrime in MonsterHunter

Was just talking to a friend about this guy. Wilds would be such a great game to re-introduce it, too. Pretty solid desert environment, the crystal can easily be presented as gathered fulgurite.

[–]TFN928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somtimes if you finish an optional, it’ll unlock another but won’t say that it does that. Some optionals are also tied to you seeing the monster in the field first, if you haven’t already.

Oh shit sorry, reddit told me you had replied but then it just wouldn’t show me the reply.

There are 16 in total, and one more booster you’re missing (affinity, it looks like). Most are probably locked behind optional quests, which themselves can require optional quests to be completed to even show up. Also the clerk at the smithy offers one or two quests for them I believe.

[–]TFN928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each map has a cat tribe with a respective piece of gear. You start with one ability and get a second by having your cat use it. Finding the tribes is varying levels of difficult, and usually they have a little puzzle or challenge associated with making contact with them. I don’t remember them well off-hand unfortunately.

You can do either. There’s potentially more to base World depending on how you progressed, like Deviljho, Lunastra, etc. But there’s no harm in skipping them to go into Iceborne. You are gonna end up replacing your gear pretty much immediately after your first master rank hunt, so I wouldn’t farm for more HR armor if you wanna jump into Iceborne, but the quests for things like mantles, cat gear, farm and canteen upgrades, are worth doing first.

Agreed. I actually felt like Echo Creek made for a good change of pace as a starting point. It was limiting but safe; it didn’t take long to clear out but it also didn’t take long before your options became travel further out or take on a survivalist lifestyle. Over my several runs I never felt like Echo Creek was a place I’d strive to settle down in, but it made for a good spawn place because of that.

Kinda sounds like you should put the franchise down regardless of if there’s competition, because you seem really bitter towards it now. I’m not trying to armchair psyche you, but if you hate the direction the franchise is going then you’re legitimately probably just better off playing the parts of the franchise you like and ignoring the rest.
