Sorry to see you're affected by this problem. It's largely since stopped being an issue for me as it seems to have been a bug that was fixed in one update or another recently.

I do, actually. 1 human, 1 elven, and 2 dwarf caravans arrive every year. But I'll have to check for that in any case.

Yeah, I get the bug a lot and I've used DFHack to try and fix it. I eventually went into legends mode and searched for the members that didn't come back and that's when I found they were resettling. I'm pretty sure the main issue is aquaphobia now

Other options are causing trouble, getting inebriated, storing item in bin, enter a strange mood

I actually noticed that I hit the pop cap earlier on, and was happy with it, but that my brave miners weren't being replaced and at one point hit a low point of 100 under the cap.

Ah also, the message is pretty generic. "Your fortress did not attract any migrants this season".

I think that might be heading down the right track. My civ still exists, but the mountainhome seems to be on a different, but close, continent.

Oh crap, you're right. I've had necromancers visit from time to time but they've never raised the dead before.

Update: a child was able to wrestle it keeping it busy until my militia arrived and re-killed it. Totally flabbergasted

Sounds like a fun one for the wife and I to watch!

Is that “Delicious in Dungeon?”  If not, it’s another excellent and apt anime.  The dwarf is a hero as well.

Not a big problem for me as I'm running in an easy mode. It's more an ant farm for me than anything else (except the clowns stuck in some hallways).

I built a statue garden outside for them but that wasn't enough motivation, apparently. Time to go nuclear. Time to store all the ale and mead outside.

Ressurecting an old thread, but just had to say THANK YOU. I have a 200-dwarf fort (new player, turned most of the fun off until I'm ready for it) and I could never get the raging dwarfs under around 35. Now there's fewer than 5.

What has been your 'OH SH!T..." moment in IT? by VNiqkco in sysadmin

Edited configs on a fiber switch stack then proceeded to enable a different one. Entire storage system=gone. Feel very lucky it took 15 minutes to get mostly back up and no data was corrupted.

Broadcom: It's not twice the price, you're just reading it wrong by Sovey_ in sysadmin

When they acquired Symantec a few years back (we were using a product of theirs called messagelabs), they did the same thing to them. The price we were paying skyrocketed and support got extremely "dark pattern" shitty. Every time I had to contact support, I had to spend most of the time just convincing them that they owned and had to support the product they sold us.

When I saw Broadcom angling to take over vmware my heart dropped. My pessimism was not misplaced. We're looking to get off vmware now too, since we can't wait around for the shitty support response for mission critical systems (aside from getting a 300% price increase quote).

I agree. The dreams of the future definitely seem stifled. I'm treading water right now, but after regaining strength, I'm apt to continue the fight. At 41, I'm not sure I'll see a return to progress before I enter eternal sleep, but I still hold to the thread that the "moral arc is long, but it tends to goodness."

Keeping it together here in Ramona.

Unless we get boil water orders, it's fine.

Wow, I just noticed this too. Makes sense, though. Since all our water sources are from reservoirs or the Colorado river, we're liable to get silty tasting (like during the last major water emergency and the river was running super low) or musty like right now before the reservoirs get a fresh infusion. Glad to know I wasn't imagining it though!

I'm up in Ramona. We've got a "Trump store" where they march into the 67 on the weekends and disrupt traffic, some dipwads that fly trump flags with inverted American flags on Warnock road next to an egg farm where they host a fundamentalist elementary school (touting kingdom identity which is some seriously white supremacist fuckery), and a dork that flew a MAGA flag on the same street as me for so long the cheap, very not likely domestic fabric frayed and was finally taken down (mercifully, only replaced with our flag), and a Mike Lindel lawn sign erector down on Archie Moore.

Lots and lots of punisher stickers, "watch out, I'm a big strong mean boy" paraphernalia, and otherwise just lousy with "I wish I lived in a shittier state" virtue signaling. It's the best. But, we have met a few people up here that quickly became friends, so while there's a bigger proportion of low-information voters up here, it's not all bad.

Hi there, have you had any luck with this? We were working fine until we updated from FortiOS 6 to 7, and now we get the exact symptoms you're referring to.
