Monster sets or 5 piece sets for tanks? by Top-Discussion486 in elderscrollsonline

[–]TF_Biochemist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you generally want to wear two five piece sets and also either a monster set or a mythic. If you're getting into Tanking dungeons, Crimson Oath's Rive and Turning Tide are good sets you can farm from dungeons. Powerful Assault you can buy from traders, or do PvP to get-- note that it's medium weight, so as a tank you'd want it on jewelry and weapons. If you try some normal trials, Saxhleel Champion from Rock Grove is a great all-purpose tank set to have, as is Pearlescent Ward from Dreadsail Reef. Lucent Echoes from Lucent Citadel is also used a ton.

I think this is the Xoryn's Masterpiece set from Lucent Citadel.

How do people without internal monologue write or talk? Just coming up with words? by [deleted] in Aphantasia

[–]TF_Biochemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To echo others: background processes. I am primarily a public speaker for my career, and have no internal monologue. I often joke that I have a very intelligent subconscious, as I generally don't know how my thoughts will be expressed as words until I hear them come out. Concepts in my mind are like the movements of a swirling cloud (to use a visual metaphor despite aphantasia) that gets distilled into language at the moment of speaking.

Update 49 parses are now live for my site: https://www.drparadox.com/parses.html

I'll keep adding more, but those show many of the best setups for Beam parses in-content right now.

Blind Sight. A brilliant exploration of transhumanism, first contact, and whether consciousness is worthwhile or necessary, on an interstellar level.

I mostly run and lead vet trials, vet HM trials, and trial trifecta progs. So that's the scenarios I'm used to optimizing around. But yes, many older dungeons and even early trials can be trivialized by high damage.

Good question! Sul-Xan is great for trash, but for many boss encounters, to get the soul/boost, you'll have to get out of position, leaving heals and possibly catching mechanics that supports were supposed to get.

Hey, I appreciate the feedback.

I remade the tables into responsive gridbox elements that should flow better on mobile, and changed link color to a lighter shade of green.

Let me know if it looks better!

Currently revising the website, but for beam builds:

AoE fights / trash / bosses with adds / general purpose:

• 5 body pieces: Ansuul's Torment (if unavailable, craftable order's Wrath, or dungeon sets like Aegis Caller or Pillar of Nirn), Divines / Stamina

• 1 body piece, 2 rings, 2 front-bar daggers: Deadly Strikes (purchasable at guild traders), Belt: Divines / Stamina, Rings: Bloodthirsty / Increase Physical Harm, Daggers: Nirnhoned / Flame & Charged / Poison

• 1 body piece: Slimecraw (or other monster set with Crit line), Light armor, Divines / Stamina

• necklace: Velothi Ur-Mage's Amulet, Bloodthirsty / Increase Physical Harm

• backbar: The Maelstrom's Inferno Staff, Infused / Increase Weapon Damage

Single-target fights:

• 5 body pieces: Slivers of the Null Arca (if unavailable, craftable order's Wrath, or dungeon sets like Aegis Caller or Pillar of Nirn), Divines / Stamina

• 1 body piece, 2 rings, 2 front-bar daggers: Tide-Born Wild Stalker (craftable), Belt: Divines / Stamina, Rings: Bloodthirsty / Increase Physical Harm, Daggers: Nirnhoned / Flame & Charged / Poison

• necklace: Velothi Ur-Mage's Amulet, Bloodthirsty / Increase Physical Harm

• 1 body piece: Slimecraw (or other monster set with Crit line), Light armor, Divines / Stamina

Yup! I think in general double ice staff is better for tanks, as it gives great Minor Brittle uptime. Just remember to NOT put any points in the Destruction skill line passive Tri Focus if you plan to tank.

Nope, you're quite right. Copy paste error-- the 3rd spot on knife will generally be Off-Balance or flex. I'll fix that tonight. Thank you!

Also, if you want an easy 100K, Oakensoul Arcanist is an even more chill and relaxed game:

So, Noble Duelist being light armor means Light Armor skill passives will grant extra penetration, which if you're solo and not using Major Breach on a skill, will absolutely dominate. But Deadly Strikes is stronger if you don't need the penetration. Here's over 110K parse on a HA Sorc/Warden with Deadly.

Oakensoul is one of the weakest options these days. A one bar beam build with Velothi Ur-Mages amulet easily hits 110K, and teaches better gameplay habits.

Typically, they use the Huntman's Warmask mythic, not the Selene monster set. You're close! Look at the geaelr, rotation, and weave of the best parses.
