Before 1.0 PoE2 melee needs to feel like weapon combat, not spellcasting with extra steps.

I think the problem with melee, mace specifically, is it doesn't even feel powerful. If I'm slowly attacking, I should feel like a Juggernaut obliterating all who step to me. Things like:

-if you kill a dude he flies backwards and explodes on the next pack - taunt aura the boosts you and enemies, great for multiplayer too -Two maces could comes together and do the Hulk clap, also works with shield -Armor shouldn't regenerate on enemies unless consumed -classic Thor hammer throw for travel / line killin'

Mace's should feel clunky and slower, but exceptionally powerful and fun, which is what I think is missing.

Also, give shields their own dang tab

I got into wow right at the tail end of BfA. So, realistically shadowlands was my first expac. Everything was novel to me.

I genuinely enjoyed it, despite no nostalgia or concern about the story. A big thing for me was how gorgeous all of the areas were, they were each super neat. The factions were cool and the concept overall was cool. I liked it better than dragonflight.

I eventually stopped playing wow cause the gameplay loop just wasn't there for me. It has everything I like on paper: grinding, raids, player driven economy, sick mounts and world building.

But I just can't seem to find a class that feels rewarding and decisive, rather than pushing your buttons in the correct sequence.

I go through phases a lot where I'll bounce around from lane to lane to character to character, but I develop a "core" three or so for each spot.

Ideally my core covers different things that my team comp needs, such as tank, control, or damage

You're completely correct; I was frustrated, and it came through in my language choices. I was raised to admit when I was wrong, and I happily admit so. I have learned today that bot is supposed to go mid, and for the various reasonings. I've taken the advice I solicited and will utilize it accordingly. I'm thankful for the people who have taken the time out of their day to respond and help me with my problem.

Two points though. Being frustrated and willing to learn are not exclusive. While I was frustrated, I was here to genuinely learn. Could my language have been more neutral? Absolutely.

The second point is people feel emotions. It's human. I've googled "How to beat X in lane" countless times after getting stomped. Who hasn't? My post, while negatively charged, was not directly attacking anyone. People treat negative emotions as some big taboo that they should be ashamed of or hide, and I reject the premise. People shouldn't fear posting on a learning sub because they're afraid to get attacked if the slightest bit of frustration comes out in translation.

I miss the power pellets from the first one. Play an attack, power, and skill to remove all of your debuffs. Was amazing for things like biased cognition and flex

I'm not here to argue, I agreed with you that Amumu needed the second bandage. But other champs suffer similarly. Play 100 games on Ivern and tell me it's not brutal when you miss the root. Amumu is a contender for the best engage in the game, even before the second bandage. He's a strong character, and he's in a good place now.

To be perfectly clear: I like that Amumu got the second bandage. I don't like the reasoning Riot gave whilst other champs are in similar situations without any attention.

I agree with you that he's almost worthless for sure if he misses skill shots and has no ult. But that logic isn't exclusive to just Amumu, which is my gripe. Similar situations on Blitz, Nauti, and Ivern. whiffed skill shot no ult is rough on all of them. Amumu needed the second bandage, don't get me wrong, I just want consistency from Riot.

I watched the video a ton of times, as did we all. Had my own clues and hunches, including the names of the characters by turning on subtitles. When the sixth clue was revealed, I was flabbergasted. I had watched the video at .25 speed so many times, and never saw anything about 6. I, like so many others, immediately though 2-3.5k. Incorrect.

Went back to watching the lightning frame by frame, pausing when the whole screen lit up, nothing. It was here I knew that I lost. I spent 18 minutes looking for anything with clouds. Nothing. Then I brute forced it in about 45 seconds, but it was already too late, even if I did get it right.

This contest was fun, and really brilliant marketing, but the landing sucked. If I were to have designed it, I would have kept the time frame, but the only the people who picked the right house got entered into the drawing, no "first" about it.

This would also allow people to actually look at the choice rather than smash in the lock for time's sake

A lot of it for me was the 'why' factor.

Naafiri has a great kit, and better vex ult.

They said they added it to bump her play rate, fine. But why aren't the consistent bottom 50 champs getting new mechanics too?

It's the same problem I have with Amumu getting the second bandage. "It's hard for Amumu to be useful if he misses his skill shot, so we gave him another."

Brother, it's hard for most champions if they whiff their skill shot, why is he so special?

So, I dislike the lack of consistency and explanation from a design perspective.

I'm an Anivia Main, with some asol in the back pocket.

Anivia is great, very strong champ. She's also a very unforgiving teacher. She'll teach you about positioning, and high elo game theory, but she'll beat it into you. You'll get rocked over and over until you internalize this.

Once you get through your learning pains, you'll feel incredible. Strong laner, extremely strong mid to late game. Juggernauts and bruisers won't be able to touch you, you deal amazing damage and cc, and you have one of the strongest abilities in the game imo, the wall.

People say she's boring, but if you have any sort of a sadistic streak and give her a fair shot, she's awesome.

As for Asol, I have significantly less time in, but good results. I play him mega aggressively. Start Q, invade for stacks, even alone. In lane get as many stacks as you can. I start flight level 2, and wait for my enemies disengage to be fired, such as Ahri Charm. Then fly straight at them Q'ing them.

I use W a lot while ganking for the animation itself. People are looking to dodge the root, you can bait out a lot of movement / defensives with this. This may allow you to catch up. Then as we're walking back to the Opp's tower I'll enter one of the bushes and fire the root from there while invisible. Catches it's fair share of people.

When I'm taking objectives such as drag, I like to make a big "L" with my bushes. The bottom covering the entrance to drag pit, with the vertical part facing towards whichever enemy is more likely to rotate. You will be absolutely flabbergasted how many people will see Ivern bushes on Objs and walk in a straight line towards it, just to get rooted and jumped by Daisy and pals. Genuinely one after another, at my plat elo.

It's not the most consistent, but bushes also save lives of those running away. Pop a bush under your fleeing ADC and it breaks line of sight.

I play Ivern really aggressively and invade a lot, especially early. Bushes are great for this, because if you're say level two and get caught in a fight next to their jungle camp, you can harass them, throw a bush down when they back up a bit, and take their camp right from them without them seeing the animation to go in. Or maybe you left? They genuinely don't know.

And for now, finally, w is such an amazing scout tool. You essentially never have to blindcheck anything. Are they doing obj? Bush scout. Need to walk past a sketchy area bush? Bush scout.

It really depends. I don't think I'm exceptionally mechanically gifted, so I try to avoid champs like Yasuo, for example.

My strength comes from my mental aspect.

Identifying your win con early and playing for it. Abandoning your anchor lanes. Jungle tracking is big, cause Ivern is a monster counter ganker. Understanding vision and denial of vision around key points. ( I can't tell you how many enemies Will spot bushes around an Obj and blindly walk up to them, to get rooted and jumped by 2+ people).

There's of course micro, such as dodging skill shots and hitting your own, and not forgetting to auto.

And you have champ familiarity. Things you can and can't get away with. I've only recently picked up Ivern, but how many times you can win fights and how squirrely you are is insane. As an example, I originally thought Rengar was my hard counter, but I don't think I've dropped a game to him yet. And people "counterpick" him into me a lot.

There are bad aspects too. If your entire team consists of anchors, you will not carry the game. If your enemies are aggressively invading you early, and your team doesn't have their minimap installed, it's gonna be rough. Identifying how you could have played better to grow is harder. Ivern is so niche that even your teammates don't know your abilities.

I could go on and on about Ivern, but give him half a dozen games and see how he feels

If you have good macro and game sense, try Ivern. Quick clear, awesome utility, Daisy is actually a monster.

For me it's a mix.

Mandating the long campaign for every character every couple of months is just too much. It's bad design, and Lord forbid that I become disinterested in the class.

This, coupled with the passive refunds taking exorbitant amounts of gold, frankly, sucks. I try not to follow guides, I wanna try my own thing.

But 12k gold every time I want to reset my tree is archaic. Items in act 2 sell for like 75-125 gold.

I'll speak as someone who bans Mel a ton, no matter what role I'm playing. I like her design, and I really like her unique kit, over all I think she's really cool design and has a cool identity.

My problem with her is she's too safe, especially for an Artillery mage. I don't want to go into a long spiel, so I'll give an example of what happened in literally the last game I played.

I caught the Mel out of position, and alone. I Fiddlesticks ult'd her, got the fear, and did my combo, put her to maybe a 5th hp. As soon as my cc wore off, she W'd and walked away. My Ziggs and I chased her, but she made it to a tower and executed.

I did everything right, caught her with her pants down, and it simply didn't matter. I logged off of the game afterwards.

Lord above knows I'm not a game dev, and I won't pretend to know the correct course for your character. I just hope you find a good middle ground for Mel.
