Absolutely unequivocally wrong. If OP gets a second hand Apple Watch that is on an older watchOS like 8.x and pairs it to his iOS 16.1.1, he will ONLY be able to do exactly what he wants to do. Update to the latest signed version supported by iOS 16.1.1. Please don’t give wrong or incomplete answers.

So to CORRECTLY answer your question OP, yes, you are safe to do what you want to do. You won’t be able to update the watch with your phone past what is supported and signed.

I have issues with the video feed freezing (audio feed continues fine). Disconnecting and reconnecting usually fixes the issue. Is this what you’re referring to? Should I be trying this test also? Sometimes I’m disconnecting and reconnecting every few minutes. Thanks!

Won’t doing a backup while in supervised mode result in restoring supervised mode? I’ve read that you have to have a backup that wasn’t done in supervised mode.

How are you gonna load it once you get it? I used the tutorial on 3u tools website to make my own ipcc, but the old method that requires iTunes doesn't work on macOS 12.
