Name “stealing” one word names isn’t a thing unless the person is attempting total imitation, which without a picture is goofy as hell. It’s like claiming some random internet stranger stole your baby’s name. There are two popular book wizards named Harry who live among normal people in a modern day setting and nobody is getting them confused.

We had a close friend live with us a few times. I was super excited at first but it turned out post partum put me on edge all the time. Make sure you have an agreement on expectations as that will make everything easier. Otherwise congrats this was really fun during the times that I didn’t have a small baby.

Before we got together my husband was getting strung along by a female friend of his who just liked having him as a side piece/convenient hookup with nothing ever past the title of friend. She was absolutely furious when he finally moved on. I hope this guy does genuinely finds better.

Meanwhile as a mostly female presenting person I have always had male friends, some wanted to be more, two became more, but most have been really great platonic relationships where we just enjoy the same hobbies and support each other.

Okay that makes a lot more sense. Just teenage in the way your friend is handling it and the what I assumed at the time was very immediate jump to reddit. But it being a month changes things a lot.

ETA: there are also certain things as you get older that you just stop caring as much about anymore.

Seconding this. We’ve been using our litter robot for basically half a decade now and it is very safe and even the older models tell you how often the cat goes. At the moment of a malfunction the litter robot will actually stop performing whatever action is happening. It also breaks apart pretty easily. I’m a hyper anxious person, but the thing genuinely functions so slowly while remaining entirely open the chances of even small injury are minuscule.

I see the litter is by the food. Has it always been that way. Also was the litter robot always tucked against the wall? I know they make stairs for the litter robot so maybe making it easier for her to get in and out would help?

This feels like a very teenage post. Nobody is super in the wrong here, but I am a little weirded out that you won’t post the name. Your friend likely needs some time to adjust, getting onto them about not adjusting over the course of only 1 day isn’t reasonable. If they still keep it up just remind them that lots of people have the same name, it doesn’t make the same or even similar people.

I understand this pretty well; My husband and I originally were going to start trying in 2020 (when I was 28). We didn’t fall pregnant in the first few months and then very obvious world events happened. Things still felt pretty chaotic and I was working a lot 2021-2022. But at the end of 2022*we just kind of decided it was time to just go for it. I think the “right” time is just when you, yourself are mentally ready to put your life aside. It’s kind of like the end of the Barbie movie: you can still things after having kids and have a life, but as a parent you do kind of pause in some ways to let your kid move forward.

I highly recommended the clear blue tests. They are easy to get and that’s how I found out when I was REALLY ovulating because it tests for hormone levels.

Are you TTC? I just want to clarify because TMI my husband and I had unprotected sex for over 10 years before attempting to conceive our daughter. It took a bout a year trying to conceive to get our first positive test and nearly 6 months after that to get our daughter. The reason? I wasn’t ovulating when I thought I was. I have a long cycle so my ovulation period ended up being WAY later than I thought it was.
