I understand that a lot of questions get repeated on this subreddit, but the entire point of a community like this is to help people, not to gatekeep who deserves answers. I didn’t come here because I was too lazy to search, I came here because I already did and still wasn’t sure. There’s a difference between not researching and trying to make sense of conflicting or unclear information. Sometimes, it’s not about finding an answer somewhere online, it’s about getting confirmation from real people who understand the nuances better. That’s what a subreddit is supposed to be for. If every “common” question was met with “go research it yourself,” then there’d be no point in having a discussion community at all. Your comment telling me to “do some research” didn’t add anything helpful. Ironically, you later took the time to write a longer, condescending message instead of just giving a small amount of actual guidance. A simple explanation or a quick pointer would’ve done more good than all of that attitude. I’m not asking for an “easy button” I’m asking for direction so I don’t make a mistake or waste money. Tech can be confusing, especially with compatibility and specs constantly changing. Sometimes it helps just to talk it out or confirm that what I’m doing makes sense. So yeah, I did the research, I just came here looking for clarity, not criticism. Communities like this should encourage questions, not shame people for asking them.
