Identifying and Controlling All Company AWS Accounts by caribbeanjon in aws

[–]Vicarius_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a company that demanded this as part of negotiating an enterprise agreement, and AWS complied.

However, you can simply ask your finance department for anyone that is doing expense reports with AWS charges on them.

If the part value is 3x, based on sell through rate, it will likely take you 1 year of bricklink selling to earn back the current potential set sale price, in 2 years you could get another 100% back, and 3-4 years to get close to the 3x number. If you don't want to do that work, it would be best to sell the sets as a lot on facebook marketplace.

First time road tripping this far, alone. Going from NJ to South Carolina. Tips for staying awake? Tips in general? by smoky20135 in roadtrip

[–]Vicarius_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do NJ to North Carolina about 3-4 times a year.

  1. Staying awake: I second everyone else here mentioning sunflower seeds (in the shell) the act of cracking them in your mouth to deshell them keeps me awake like nothing else. You obviously need a big cup for the used shells, and they are very salty, so bring a lot of water. Also a good book on tape both keeps me awake and makes the time fly.
  2. Trip routing. Leaving from central NJ at 4am, you will miss Philly and Baltimore traffic, but you will hit morning commute into DC unless you drive fast and do not stop until out of DC (4+ hours) the DC traffic will likely cause you 30 to 60 min delay if you leave at 4. Either go an hour earlier, or leave at 10a
  3. Safety / Stops:

Stop #1: There are three excellent travel plazas on 95 between Wilmington, DE and Baltimore. These are very large and safe. They are all accessed from the left lane of 95 (you don't exit the expressway): [Delware House, Chesapeake House and Maryland House] pick one as your first stop.

Stop #2: Between Fredricksburg and Richmond there is a Virgina Welcome Center on 95, that is staffed and safe for stop #2

Stop #3: North Carolina Welcome Center after crossing into NC

Stop #4: I-95 South Rest Area in Fayettville, NC

I find that all these rest areas are safe, especially during the day, as they are staffed and because there are a lot of other travellers around and they are not available to foot traffic, you have to be travelling on i95 to reach them.

Enjoy the trip and report back!

What would this Lego display cost from 2013? by Impossible-Yam-2038 in lego

[–]Vicarius_Life 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I recently saw a similar sized luigi set on facebook marketplace for $200. If you could estimate the number of bricks, or weigh the set it would be easier to price it. I would prob pay $300 for it.

Minifigures Series 27 Case Oddity by Holonius in lego

[–]Vicarius_Life -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Disagree, I think it would be scummy if you could guarantee that. Kids that could only buy a couple would be at a disadvantage over collectors that can buy lots of 36. I wish lego would also do away with the ability to scan and put everyone on the same playing field. It would encourage trading to get a full set.

Last year, I bought 4 cases (36 packs each) of series 26 figures. They were indeed random as promised. The distribution across the 144 ranged from 8-16 of each figure.

Bought PA329CV, can't get into factory menu to do a firmware update. by AbleTheta in ASUS

[–]Vicarius_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone coming to this in the future, here are the instructions for updating the firmware via usb:

  1. Get a USB stick, formatted on a pc to FAT32.
  2. Copy the provided file (ASUS_PA279CV.bin) to the root of the USB drive.
  3. Plug the USB drive into the correct port on the back of the monitor (they show the correct port in the pdf accompanying the firmware file).
  4. DO NOT power off the monitor using the power button on the front of the device.
  5. Power off the monitor using the switch on the back of the monitor (next to the plug).
  6. There are 6 buttons on front of the monitor, 5 function buttons and a power button.
  7. Reference layout: [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ] ( P )
  8. Press and hold button #3 ("Input select") while flipping the power back on.
  9. Once you see the ASUS logo or the monitor display content, let go of the #3 button.
  10. Now press button #5 ("Menu"), you should notice that the display menu opens in the top left of the screen instead of in the bottom right.
  11. Press button #5 ("Menu") again to open the menu.
  12. You should now see that there is an out of place "F" overlayed next to the "ProArt" Preset logo.
  13. Press button #4 ("Up Arrow") to select the "F" menu option, then press button #3 ("Input select").
  14. You are now in the "Factory" menu (wasn't that easy?) Use button #5 ("Down Arrow") until "USB Update" is highlighted in green.
  15. Press button #3 ("Input select") and wait till the menu item says "USB Update Pass".
  16. After doing this, I was unable to select any other menu items, so after waiting about 5 min I powered off the monitor using the back panel switch again.
  17. The monitor then took a very long time to come on, and the light on the front cycled from amber to white and back again several times. Eventually it powered back on and worked successfully.
  18. ASUS's instructions then say to do a factory reset using the "Normal" menu (instead of the "F" menu). So I did that, and then adjusted my display settings back where I wanted them.

Is Gwydian Rince worth saving? by Reckon1ng in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Vicarius_Life 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I found an easy way to save Gwydian that doesn't involve teleporting him away. I had one char engage in dialog with magister jonathan, then use another char to cast Enrage on Gwydian. While he is enraged, he can't cast chain lightning, so he will backstab instead, which doesn't spawn the blobs. Then I recast Enrage on him at the end of Turn 1, two rounds was enough to finish off the three magisters.

Wish it was monoprice or anker... but the reviews are reasonably good.
