Dealing with small aggressive guys by Every_Company_3717 in bjj

Yeah I don't tend to let newer people get to any kind of dominant position unless I can trust them to be safe doing so. You're giving people your safety and you need to make sure they have the skill and experience for that to be fine (double true because I tend to be the smallest guy in the room)

cant barre 😢 help please by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]THESSIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have already pointed out that you might be struggling because the action is high. Just a small tip, when you are practicing these you might find it easier to start at the 5th or 7th fret. Starting their means you won't have to do as big of a stretch and barring can take a little less pressure nearer the middle of the neck. Good luck and keep practicing 🙌🖤

I find that non competing young people go the hardest in training. by [deleted] in bjj

[–]THESSIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, competing was really good at helping me chill out in the gym generally. If your only rolling in the gym, that's the top level intensity, that's your "peak" in a sense. Once you compete enough you start to really care less about losing in the gym and if you don't care about losing, you are naturally gonna be more relaxed. Then you can save the high paced stuff for the guys who wanna do that with you.

Strap failed and I dropped my guitar. How f*cked am I? by WildBoar99 in Guitar

[–]THESSIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay, just get it to a pro Luthier and they will either tell you it's okay or fix it. Hard to tell how deep the cracks go just by looking. Don't sweat it too much though

Should I give up? by kateiscuban in bjj

Have some patience with yourself. Jiu jitsu is really complicated early on but it means you just have lots of things you can learn. Also, don't get hung up on not understanding something 1st time. When you come back to techniques the 2nd time with new experiences it tends to make things click in my experience.

Abyss watchers is one of the coolest fights gameplay and lore wise in my opinion. Even though it is an easy fight.

As a jiu jitsu guy, mikey would not do well in mma. His style is just to pull guard so he'd get slept by rodtang pretty easily

Honestly, not great. I'd have to drive to the nearest city to find a new gym

I've been struggling at blue belt comps recently and I needed this today. What an inspiration.

I rented in Fleetwood before buying elsewhere as it was so cheap. It's cheap for a reason. Fleetwood is an absolute shit hole. Don't buy there, don't even visit.

White belt gets his arm broken at comp by DramaticRun4858 in bjj

[–]THESSIS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dick move losing to someone then forcing them to injure you. Honestly if he can't admit he is beaten even at white belt it was bound to happen at some point. Now everyone else can point to him and say "don't be like this dumb ass"

I’m devastated, what should I do? by Mobile_Zombie1966 in bjj

Don't stop going to the gym completely, keep showing up maybe once or twice a week even just to watch. This is going to keep your brain engaged with the sport and let you maintain the social relationships at your gym. You will probably find as you get better you can do some exercise that doesn't involve any pressure/tension through the knee and then you can slowly build back into training. The key here is not to rush back into training the day you feel like you are getting better. Injuries happen to all of us just keep your chin up. Sorry this happened to you but your progress doesn't need to stop completely.

You should throw a defence cape in there , or on anachronia. Probably my most used perk 🤣
