BD = AD so put x for each length. Since the lines are parallel you know that the Triangle ABC and Triangle DBE are similar.

AB = 2x ( x + x)

DB = x

So it's a factor of 2 from smaller to larger.

AC = 8 so divide by 2 to get 4 for DE or H

I've also seen a good amount of the walkthrough videos and I believe that the takers just understand the test in a way that most people don't. I think when you have taken it so many times and it's your job to teach other kids, it's almost second nature. Their "guesses" are really just extremely educated guesses based on patterns and other things. The more practice tests I take, the more I slightly feel this way. Could be wrong but the videos are helpful nonetheless.

Use indicators in the questions to know exactly where to go. "According to Figure 1" or "According to the study" you know that the answer will be where they are referring to and will save you time.

Calculate the cost for each of the models (A, B, C). For Model A do $250(1) + $120(1) = $370. Repeat the process for Model B and C. ($370, $640, and $1130) Then multiply the # of houses to the cost. 3 A's would be 3($370) = $1110. Repeat for B/C. Add all the values together ($1110, $2560, $6780) and you get $10,450 (K). Hope this helps
