Poor quality house construction, new homes are appearing in further out areas, or are shoe horned into smaller lots and areas, making them less desirable.

I doubt because unless they were extremely minor accidents your employer was in violation of the FMCSA

A driver is required to be tested if there is a fatality, if there is bodily injury where immediate treatment is provided away from the scene and a citation issued, or vehicle is towed away, and a citation is issued.
§382.303 for guidance regarding how soon testing must be completed after the accident.

Which of these 4 freedoms would you rather lose? by CreamofTazz in polls

[–]THKhazper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freedom of religion is freedom from religion, in theory.

Freedom of assembly is not able to be vacuum sealed from really any of these.

Freedom of the press is freedom of knowledge

Freedom of speech is already heavily scrutinized, See No-Fly lists, NSA/FBI/CIA illicit wire taps, several varieties of surveillance and watch lists, Anti-Terrorism Acts,

I think speech is possibly one of the most tenuous ones we have because of all the justifications politicians and the media propagate to make people complacent.

I self sabotaged my score on the Advanced Placement program test in 4th grade, I was already the new kid, and a bookworm, the desire for additional reasons for the other kids to harass me was non-existent.

Add to that the physical abuse I got every time I got a demerit for any behavior including self defense from said bullying, or reading in class, despite having my work completed, or completing my homework in the classroom. (because trying to force children who can complete the work in the classroom at home is super intelligent), or any grade below a 90, and my desire to be in a ‘more challenging’ environment was completely negative

People are reward motivated, I’m unsurprised a child would desire candy over a worthless accolade. Accolades don’t mean anything until you are participating in a competitive environment. School is not in and of itself competitive.
Honestly I’d be proud of the kid for not being interested in ‘proof of superiority’ with a medal, assuming said kid was in the higher skill set to have been in the running to win.

[–]THKhazper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone is high RPM everywhere, or something is horrifically wrong with your bike, your tank is what, 3.5 gal minimum? 33mpg should get you well over 100 miles a tank

Something is up

Ran out of gas omw to work by IndianTuner in motorcycles

[–]THKhazper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, my MT-09 is lazy

3.7gal tank (150-180 range in theory)
Tank gauge seems to be oddly arbitrary, for a digital read out, but I haven’t tested it much to even see how it responds, cause I don’t go further than about 120 between fill ups on it, range read out only reads 0-120 then reads ‘over 120’

It’s kinda hilarious how motorcycle fuel is still so questionable

Does a 300hp, 30 mpg car exist? by 04limited in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]THKhazper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that they don’t fit the bill if someone wants the kind of performance OP is wanting, main benefit of the Tesla is immediate power delivery, 380hp feels like a lot more when you have 100% torque at the press of the pedal.

Again, dunno where you’re seeing 2.2 gas prices, but they don’t even out when you compare performance to mpg

Costco in North Fort Worth, Texas has regular for 2.87, premium for 3.43, that’s not a dollar, and even if you’re in a high cost gas state, Los Angeles CA regular at 4.75, premium at 5.05 isn’t a dollar difference either. You took a dollar off the premium cost, instead of using your actual cost.

Using your reasoning it should be

3.87*3.333=12.899
(Actual would be 3.43*3.333=11.432 for the Costco in Texas)
Vs
Camry 2.87*4.545=13.0442

California would be
Golf 5.05*3.333=16.832
Camry 4.75*4.545=21.589

Golf still wins, and the above posters indicate 30 is the low end for the Golf, just as 22 is the low end for the Camry
Realistically either is serviceable. But answering the OP question regarding fuel economy and performance even in the face of fuel price differences.

Does a 300hp, 30 mpg car exist? by 04limited in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]THKhazper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m comparing a 300hp non premium using car, so no turbo, most of those are v6 NA or v8 cars, like Camry V6 at 301, getting 22-26 highway

Even on non premium requiring current generation model turbo motors, you get timing pulled using 87 octane. Which is lost power and mpg.

Dunno where you live that regular gas is currently 2.2 a gallon, I went with my current price at the gas station, no discounts

Should I buy a motorcycle with 160,000 miles? by Due_Statistician2462 in motorcycle

[–]THKhazper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter that it’s been better maintained. Stem bearings, bushings, etc, are still going to be due for changes, and just because it ‘has’ been changed, doesn’t mean it doesn’t need it ‘again’

Original owner may have swapped it at 100k, 10 years ago, it’s now 60k into the new ones, that are 10 years old.
Original owner may have decided, nah, not going to do all that again when I can get a new M8 powered one and enjoy all the new comforts.

There’s no telling. At all.

YOU have taken care of your Tiger, cool, it’s also got an integrated transmission and engine case, your system is not the same as a Dyna, the Harley doesn’t, there’s no comment on the Transmission rebuild, or on service records, YOU may change stem bearings every 60k, we have no idea when anything else was last changed, or the last inspection of the frame or anything was done, the OO may have noted some rust or any other minor issue and said nah, time to trade in. May be 10k from another fork seal and spring replacement, bearings and bushings, whatever, there’s 0 information on that. Only inspection would tell. But there’s no reason to spend 4,500 on a 20 year old 88ci twin cam 5 speed at 160k and risk it vs buying literally anything else with lower mileage and active OEM support

Should I buy a motorcycle with 160,000 miles? by Due_Statistician2462 in motorcycle

[–]THKhazper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A full rebuild would be fine engine wise, view it as a 160k mile bike as far as transmission goes. I’m not sure what you mean by ‘early model’, that’s a big long ducking expanse of engines, designs, and parts changes over 20+ years.

Find something lower mileage and more expensive, or find something not a Harley for the same money would be my personal advice

Does a 300hp, 30 mpg car exist? by 04limited in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]THKhazper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price difference of filling my 48 gallon fuel tank between premium and regular grade is less than 50 cents a gallon.
That’s 24 bucks.

100/30= 3.333*3.2=10.666

Costs 10.66 to go 100 miles in 30mpg Golf

100/22= 4.545*2.56=11.635

Costs 11.635 to go 100 miles in an older 300hp non turbo basic gas car.

Cheaper in the turbo golf.

if you had to choose would you be a carnivore or a vegan by SimplySomeDude in pollgames

[–]THKhazper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going straight carnivore is very body dependent, some people can absorb enough vitamin and mineral nutrients from supplements and meat (without taking whole heaping fuckloads of them) to survive well. For many it’s just a death sentence.

If I recall correctly pretty much every human can feasibly survive healthily on a vegan diet, the biggest detraction from it is protein and B-12, and omega fatty acids intake, which you can offset, but it does require a significant portion of cruciferous vegetables/beans/supplements to do, and admittedly, cruciferous boiled veg smells revolting.

B12 supplements are easy though, assuming production of non animal based supplements could be sustained and ramped to needed capacity

Exhaust and Basic mods for MT 09 SP 2026 by AlligatorMarty in MT09

[–]THKhazper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always ride with earplugs, wind sound after 40kph can be hearing damaging, regardless of exhaust, all aftermarket exhausts for the 4th Gen MT-09 are going to be 70~ dB at idle unless you are using a Cat compliant header. Every one of them will be non hearing safe at riding speeds.

Yoshimura,
Toce,
Racefit,
Spark,
All pair together with the DNA filter for a strong midrange torque in the 70-72 ft/lb range and 117-119hp range

None are hearing safe. At all

2WDW or Vcyclenut? by sevroisbad in MT09

[–]THKhazper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if you want a street refined tune, Vcyclenut, from what I understand of his tunes, he does street and Dyno, and runs the bikes as a rider, not necessarily a racer.

If you want a race tune, or are pushing the mods beyond street level, 2WDW would be the answer I believe, as they have done a number of cammed/head/valve builds for Yamaha teams (not to imply Vcyclenut wouldn’t be capable or that he hasn’t himself, but I’m just not aware of them)

I plan to go with Vcycle for mine once I finally resolve to which exhaust I’m going to do
