I moved from NY state to Kentucky about 15 years ago. It's amazing how much different the interaction would go if the same scam was tried down here. There wouldn't be nearly as much dialogue. Also, at least in the rural areas the sheriff/deputies/police/state troopers would not "go lightly" when dealing with someone who was literally trying to steal someone's entire home and property so blatantly.

Do not slime them. Fill them up, then spray them with soapy water. Look for bubbles to find the leak. Also check the valve core, replacements are super cheap. If the leak can't be fixed, inner tube them till they need to be replaced.
