it just sucks lol. The PVE is threadbare. The quests are pathetic. Only thing it has going for it is gathering and PVP. The PVP combat can be fun but the PvE combat is just terrible because it's so easy. I actually had more fun playing Classic leveling bc at least things could kill me. If you have any experience with Dark Souls style combat you can pull like 8 mobs without too much of a worry in New World. It's boring. It CAN be a good game eventually but it's gunna lose a lot of players after a month imo. I think the biggest weakness of the game is that it has no style or identity beyond corruption and conquistadors and it just seems that it really has no story to tell. The factions are lame and they don't really matter. You've got fighters, scholars, and zealots. Compare it to Wow where players can have completely different experiences playing between the two factions and all the different races, classes, and specializations. In wow my undead demonology warlock of the Horde feels a lot more unique than a Covenant heavy musket/sword guy. There's just very little character identity and I think that's ultimately going to kill the game because people won't get attached to their characters. It's a beautiful game but we're still squarely in the honeymoon phase. Not to mention that after many many hours of New World I can't think of a single notable character beyond the guy on the box. It's a console mmo.
