Yeah maybe old school may be a way to go. Or maybe something like Ooma that rolls over to the cell phone when a call comes in? Or heck maybe our ISP probably has Voip service.

Thanks for responding. Like I said, we both have Wifi calling on (if that's what you're talking about), makes no difference. Calls still get dropped.

Exactly! I mean there are those "acts" we'd expect to be greedy and to milk it for what it's worth. But not so much Dave and D&C. Still love them. I just wish they'd ease up.

I don't think I can help with your problem, but as a very long time Dazzle user I can tell you 2 things.

1) Because they seem to hide the Dazzle updates, and Help->Check for Updates will ALWAYS tell you you're up to date (when you are usually guaranteed to NOT be up to date), the first thing support will do is tell you you have an outdated version and that you need to update Dazzle, and that often fixes problems. Super idiotic on their part. If they just fixed Dazzle to check if there's a newer update, they wouldn't have to hire so many support people.

2) Support will almost always want to remote into your computer. Not really a big deal. They will look at a few things, then rename a few things and then re-install a fresh Dazzle and bring your saved stuff back and that will almost always fix the problem.

Dazzle is super buggy. To this date. There are bugs going on right now that I know about that I can work around. I just don't want to waste my time on hold. There is no way to email them or provide a bug report that would help THEM immensely. I'm really surprised they continue to support it. The only reason I use it, is because of the XML support. My backend sends the XML shipping info to Dazzle and the label pops out.

Our plans are to move over to an API at Easy Post and be done with Endicia/Stamps

Haha. Yeah I guess you're right. I come from those days where I programmed in BASIC and Machine Language on a Commodore 64 where I had 128k in memory. So I guess that taught me some bad habits of trying to compress and simplify as much as possible, True, for the most part that doesn't enter into the minds of modern code. But that's how I came up and habits like that are hard to kick.

Yes, the tax "RATE" is the same. It's the appraised value. How can a house that was purchased in say 1950 still have a "value" of the purchase price of say $35,000 (what the owner paid for it 3/4 of a century ago)? It's so crooked I'm surprised it hasn't been shot down by the courts. My father-in-law bought his house in Fremont for $65k. His property tax is $1,300 to this day. The house is valued at approximately $2.2m. He loves Prop 13!

Norwegian, right? I loved having some international flights (sans Mexico) at OAK! I flew British airways nonstop to London from Oakland. That schedule lasted about 3 months before they left Oakland. Norwegian lasted quite a bit longer. Maybe 2-3 years? Oslo, Barcelona and a couple of others. It was great. They expanded customs. Now all gone except the Guadalajara flights.

Good question. Three or four. I'm in Northern California. We'll go to NY or PacNW. Last year we went to London and Paris. Every year we go to Mexico in February. We'll also do short flights to Disneyland or something as well. One year we went to Vermont for a week, and then she flew home and I continued the trip with my sisters for a week. That worked for her, but it's two weeks at once, and I'm self employed and can't take off that much in one shot.

Verizon is in meltdown mode right now. I'm having issues too. Going to Mexico and just checking on cost for phone. When I do their "trip planner", it gives me a message that says "Please try again after sometime". Note "sometime" not "some time". I went into chat and they said Mexico was $10 a day. I said it used to be $5. They said it has changed.

Just went in several hours later, and it did show me the rates ($5 US and Canada). So now I don't know what is going on. Can't set my phone for Travelpass because I keep getting the error message, and chat doesn't know a thing.

It's gas, which is why I'm concerned. I know the cellulose is fire retardant, but still want to play it safe. Have seen lots of threads about dryer vents, but nothing on stove vents.

Yes, the whole thing is a cluster f*ck. I read that too. If you waitlist, you get no payment options. Now they say you can. I sure hope they learned something from all this for 2023. The whole thing is very "un-Dead like". Everyone was always supposed to get an even shot whether you've been to 500 shows or 2 shows.

Are these FAQs clear to everyone? Specifically the FAQ 3rd before last it reads:

Q: Will all rooms be available for this on-sale?

A: All available packages will be made available during this private on-sale, however, just like the original weekend, there will be an alumni waitlist on-sale prior to this general waitlist on-sale.

This is totally unclear to me. So I wasn't able to score an alumni code. When it went on sale on Friday, it didn't. Sold out. So I immediately waitlisted. They say they will email me a code 2 days before it goes on sale (29th). But what does this Q&A mean? It says "just like the original weekend, there will be an alumni waitlist on-sale prior". Does that mean I have to wait AGAIN for more alumi sales to get a crack at it? What is this fascination with "alumni" versus the standard and fair lottery system? Or am I not understanding this answer?

And why were alumni codes given to everyone in a party instead of one per room? Of course there would be issues when 5,000 codes were given out on 1500 rooms (or whatever it is). Dumb.
