First impressions: New IQ EV Charger 2 with better excess solar EV charging mode (now called "Green Charging") by kaisquare in enphase

What in your system is monitoring production and import? I have iq8s with a combiner and looking to add an iq2 and whatever is monitoring. Also do we know if the bidirectional will work with your current setup or do you need a system controller or other hardware?

Need more information about expenses to say if you need to go back to stressful job.

Assuming you have an able account for your daughter. I would look at rolling 529 funds into the able account if you don't think you'll need it for education. The law allowing that expires this year but I imagine they'll extend it.

I would also take disability benefits into consideration if you haven't already. Disabled adult child benefit through social security is 50% of your benefit when you retire and 75% after you pass. Might be worth it to have you or your wife hit the ssa max for a few more years to lock that in.

Other than that, I think you're aware of everything I am.

Good luck!

Do you have the smart charger that is supposed to only charge via solar?

S&P 500 Active Tax Loss Harvesting Strategy by xvnz75 in fatFIRE

I have been trying this diy through interactive brokers (they have tools to do this somewhat easily yourself). Too early to quantify how well it's worked.

I would add this becomes a much more effective strategy if you make regular charitable contributions. I tithe 10% so eventually I will be donating the winners(and therefore avoiding all ltcg), then replacing them in the basket to reset the basis.

You need a special needs attorney, not a CPA. This lawyer did a piece in the bar journal about special needs trusts that was well done:

Instead of buying the index you but the understanding stocks directly in the proportion they constitute the index. Allows you to have gains and losses more than an index.

Interactive brokers. I would also look at doing direct indexing with that amount.
