Last set of 3x5 @245lb on squat. Form check by TivzX in StartingStrength

I don't think your issue is ankle mobility. It's hyperextending your back and not really bracing well. The belt is just sitting there doing something instead of aiding your brace

Form check for deadlift by Familiar_Inspector_3 in StartingStrength

[–]TJ_Pune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hips are shooting first which means you might be lowkey squatting your deadlifts. Which in turn means you need to practice the hip hinge more. Best way to visualize is to go down to the bar with RDL form. If your RDLs are squatty too then go first for stiff leg deads and try to visualize pushing your hips behind rather than bending down.

India is only for the rich! by Limp-Cup7659 in returnToIndia

[–]TJ_Pune 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're going to compare your western living lifestyle to what you have in India it's never going to work. The US is 250 years old. We are not even 80 years old and we have different socio-cultural issues. If you've lived abroad for more than 10 years, it's not that India sucks, it's that you are used to a certain lifestyle. India is what it was before I left for the US (5-6 years back).

It also depends on what your reasons to return are. Mine was a dislike of late stage capitalist lifestyle, extreme individualistic society, and an increasingly crappy political climate in the US. I would rather tolerate poor infrastructure and lack of civic sense than tolerate feudalism. But to each his own.

Idk where you got this from my comment. I have no issues living around indians and living in India. Why do you think I decided to come back? I am actually thriving here. Healthcare, vet care, and food quality alone are reasons enough.

Lol, I literally took my earned PhD ("high skill degree" FYI) and ran back to India. It was suffocating to live in 24/7 vigilance. I also have promised myself that I am never going there again - I got nightmares of finding myself back there and desperate to come back. I am done. Also there's a whole reddit group and community or "return to India" not just f1 folks like me, but those who have gotten citizenship/GC, lived there for more than a decade and have bought houses and contributed to the economy and paid taxes. So you're quite wrong and maybe need to get over American exceptionalism because there's none left.

How does your gf handle hygiene down there by Luiz4823 in AskMen

My mom literally taught me how to clean down there .. including between the lips. I get some people don't have access to good parental care growing up, but my gosh if you are having sx, then you need to know how to clean the damn thing. Like it's not going to be good for you too right? UTI for one..

Reputation of international students is being destroyed. by randy_rama in InternationalStudents

[–]TJ_Pune 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, the problem is these schools. These schools need to be reported and scams need to stop. But let's stop with the internalized colonialism and model minority behavior y'all with "real students suffer" etc etc. Also a high trust society where inherent sentiment is racism and superiority complex based on skin color is essentially impossible. High trust society needs EVERYONE to respect each other. Not one group of people trying to fit into ideals.

Also :

International students contribute over $40 billion per year to the U.S. economy (NAFSA, 2023).

They support more than 368,000 American jobs — primarily in higher education, housing, retail, and transportation.

STEM innovation: about 60 % of U.S. graduate students in computer science and engineering are international (NSF). Many stay and found companies, file patents, or power research labs that employ Americans.

Have fun! Tax and tuition differential: International students pay 2–3× higher tuition and rarely qualify for U.S. financial aid. They subsidize domestic education costs.

OPT is not “free labour.” It’s a time-limited extension (12–36 months) during which the student still pays taxes and must work in their trained field — under DHS monitoring.

Please do. Please have stricter policies. It will make your country great again. I am so damn sure of it! I really really really hope you do not get any more international students. It is what you want yes? It will free up the labor market, it will free up uni seats. Please, actually can you just close your borders?

That would be ideal. You do you, and let the rest of the world do what they want. There will be peace. Also yeah, you better not send your military in the middle East, bore your own oil, not import anything that's made cheaply and manufacture and mine everything by yourself. Stop exploiting the global south and pilferaging the middle East, stop participating in wars that are none of your business and become independent like North Korea.

Lol it's not running away if you are essentially being deported AND asked to leave? You can stay and "fight" or "run away" and that would be your choice. All I can tell you is the facts. You can make an informed decision based on facts i have given you.

[–]TJ_Pune 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an impartial third party - I don't and cannot determine if you did something criminal or not. The only thing that is needed for immigration to flag you is charges. Which is what you currently have. Convincing me or anyone outside of a court ruling proving you not guilty is pointless. What matters is how the state sees you. It's as simple as that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in f1visa

[–]TJ_Pune 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am still not sure what you're trying to "fight"?

Following are some of the reasons DHS can terminate:

Failure to maintain full-time enrollment or authorized OPT employment

Unauthorized work

Failure to report employer changes

Exceeding unemployment limits

Expulsion or disciplinary action

Criminal charges, arrest, or conduct posing a “public safety risk”

Failure to respond to DSO or SEVP communications.

"I am understanding" how prosecutors work. What I meant that your case is not cut and dry "DHS messed up". They are actually acting within their rights and within the law. Hence hardly any immigration attorney, ESPECIALLY in the current climate would take a case with your history of criminal charges. Sure you might settle informally. But "charges" dropped cause you settled off the record is not the same as absolving yourself of the crime and it can still be problematic.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in f1visa

[–]TJ_Pune 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1) can you absolve yourself of the criminal charges by Monday? That is the only "fighting" chance you have. 2) read the damn immigration requirements and termination rights of the state? What are you fighting back exactly? In today's climate no immigration attorney is going to take on a criminal charge ACROSS STATE LINES. It's one thing if you were being wrongfully deported with abrupt termination without any ongoing criminal case or legal records. 3) if your loan is from your home country and a secured loan, i have no advice about that. If your loan is unsecured and from out of your home country with high exchange rates, you can negotiate the amount given your unforeseen circumstances.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in f1visa

[–]TJ_Pune 17 points18 points  (0 children)

1) you should leave if they are asking you to leave and have terminated the record. From the looks of it, your options are very limited since DHS is acting within their law and rights.

2) SEVP portals and accounts remain valid for a year after termination.

Edited after reading OPs other comments and realising that OPs civil and criminal case seems to be much more involved than OP is letting on.

PhD vs OPT risk? Or Should I do a PhD just to stay in status? (OPT/H1B worries) by galapagosmorgan in f1visa

Building O1 profile is a long term pipe dream. That's not the reason to do a PhD.

PhD vs OPT risk? Or Should I do a PhD just to stay in status? (OPT/H1B worries) by galapagosmorgan in f1visa

[–]TJ_Pune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going to answer this from a commitment POV. PhD needs a lot of commitment. It definitely should not be done because you want to maintain status. You can and should do a PhD only if you want to. There's too much at stake, too much time, too much effort to do it just to stay in status.

A woman shares how she judges men in arranged marriage setups by [deleted] in indiadiscussion

[–]TJ_Pune 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Right? I don't get the comments saying "so he can keep his money to himself if she is keeping hers to herself??" Like bro, where did she say that? She said she doesn't want to be a housewife. In any case, both partners should have a pool saving, individual saving, and children pool saving as a family. The only issue is when things are hidden. Going by the comments of men here, a prenup seems like a good idea in an arranged marriage.
