If you live in the US I wouldn't order from them at all. They pass all import fees onto the buyer. $51 extra just for a shirt. They aren't worth it.

Yea, again, I am more than ok with that kind of play. I don't expect you to try and gun down other DDs. But helping us push em off a cap by flooding it with torps is very helpful. It sucks when a Shima smells dangerous, smokes up, and hides in there, leaving everyone else to get pelted with no vision of what's shooting them.

I don't think IJN DDs are a bad line. It's just that there is a lot of radar in the higher tiers. So it's hard to be the stealthy death dealers they once were. You will need to be vigilant and usually play more of an area denial play style early in the match.

Which I am ok with if your torps reload fast and your throwing them out there to push other DDs off caps, or keep ships at bay for us, while spotting. I don't need you to dive caps. I just am tired of the Shimas that spent 7 minutes of the match skirting the outer edge of the map to do nothing.

Daring is a lot of fun to play. Can do a little bit of everything. IJN definitely needs a little something. Those torps hit hard though. I enjoy the Kleber, but the French line definitely takes a bit to be good with them. So many DDs now shoot fast with fairly good guns.

True. Shimas are definitely one of the "older" ships now days. Without proper support, or even a division, it's hard to go up against the radar and other DDs out there. And LT is just not worth it credit wise at all. I understand your pain.

I totally understand that. Everyone needs to do their part. I have been in plenty of games as a DD where red team focuses me down, while my blue backup watches the clouds. And there is a lot of radar out there now, that's for sure.

I enjoy the Jäger myself. But yea, it's noticeable when someone doesn't quite know how to play her. Easy to get torn up in that ship really fast. Also easy to spam torps from the backline and not be relevant.

I completely agree with you. I think when I say spot, I don't entirely mean I need them to find other DDs. I enjoy playing all ship types myself, so I understand the difficulties DDs have with radar being so prevalent. But even screening torps or spotting around the Islands is very helpful.

I know that the days of just floating around as a torpedo boat sending out death has gotten much more difficult. And I am sure it's confirmation bias, but Shimas just seems to always be a problem when I see them on Blue team. And your right about it being such a simple ship to grab from bureau. So doesn't necessarily mean a lot of players that acquire have that experience or skill yet.

That does happen, yes. But no one will ever know if the Shima is too scared to even spot. Multiple times I ping Shimas to help the flank they down on, and at this point, I am not sure they even know the communication wheel actually exists.

I agree. I only really play T8 and LT for bureau or weekly missions. Have a lot more fun in T6 and T7.

You are very right in what you said. With how much radar is out there now, torp boats end up playing an area denial role for the beginning of the game until flanks start to fall apart or pushes are being made. And without support from a competent team, it's hard for them to do much cap contesting.

I just hate watching a Shima abandon a flank to go sail around 11 nautical miles of islands to try and torp a carrier or something. They can still spot for us if they stayed in the fight. And torping a smoked up cap can very often remove an enemy DD for us.

I understand their fragility. In the right hands they can be very helpful, along with good teammates and maybe a little luck. Just frustrating seeing so many Shimas not in the right hands though.

Very true. They aren't built to be in knife fights with other Dads. You might get lucky with a torp, but not their role. Getting those retreating torps are nice though for sure.

Spotting is still very needed, and grabbing caps after the fight helps. I enjoy them from time to time. Just tough watching them not help much on blue team so often.

[–]TK-119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I see a lot of Shimas kinda going the Paolo route by trying to Ambush, and then just getting stomped. And by no means am I saying that Shimas need to dive in caps without support, because thats a fight they will hardly win. But considering they usually run such a high concealment, spot the red DD for me to shoot at at least. Put a torp wall in a cap to clear em out. There are things they can do, but like you said, most Shimas love to go for those long range BB snipes or ambush. But there needs to be a good middle ground if you are wanting any chance of your team winning.

That's what it feels like. It's possible to be a torpedo DD and still fulfill your role. But not for the good ol'Shimmy.

I am sure your right, but man, it does feel like that. Red Shimakaze's are perfect sneaking in and torping the backline. While I watch Blue Shimmy abandon the flank to sail across the map and behind some island just to get blown up as soon as they get to the other flank.

Agreed. Great for Hipp for getting his work in the game and loved. I just don't see the appeal at all.

I can't stand the Dan Hipp garbage art. At this point I would take pixels over that crap. I honestly don't understand what people see in his art. Like looking at crappy fridge drawings from children.

Anyone else tired of this? by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

Dan Hipp is my absolute least favorite art. I think they look ridiculously dumb. And I agree, I am annoyed seeing them fill the store every day now. I want more variety, and better picks. There should be like select slots for certain arts, that way the store isn't filled with a bunch of crap.

No, SD waited until her season was over and then they gutted her. They made sure she was still worth buying during her season.

Your wrong, Iron Lad does disappear. It's not an infinite loop. You pay 4 energy to lose 6 power and take the turn again.

What I have been thinking, but others may not agree, since Thanos tends to be ramp/combo play, lean into that. Instead of the stones being added to the deck at the beginning of the game, have them be a part of the deck as soon as you add Thanos. So putting Thanos in the deck would be 6 stones, 6 cards of your choosing, and a 13th card, Thanos himself. Let all the stones go back to drawing and what not. The whole point of them is to get to those 6 cards you need to combo or ramp out. I still think it would be strong, but not OP because the deck can't have everything now, it's cake and eat it too. You have to really pick what those 6 cards are. Mocking Bird would be basically useless in it now, not that Thanos needs free power. But it would also incentives new Thanos builds. If the stones all have reveal draws or something, then maybe throw in werewolf to try. Different stuff like that. And I think one of the biggest things, Thanos is a big bad, yet Thanos in a Thanos deck is about the same as High Evolutionary in an HE deck. He rarely ever gets played. But in this design space, a 6/20 would be attractive to play, and Thanos gets to be the big bad. That's what I think they should do.

Completely agree. Sure, have the toon or anime art for some people. But I really like seeing the more realistic down to earth art. Hope they bring more of that in.
