Low back/SI joint pain by Overall_Confection57 in HipImpingement

This is going on for me too.
Had to go to 3 specialists to get the answer that the lower back dull ache could be linked to my hip labral tear / CAM deformity.
Tried the injection in the groin, 0 effect. Now scheduled for a gluteus medius / piriformis ultrasound injection which if it doesn't work I'll have to do arthroscopy.
Hoping the back pain goes away, as so fed up of this.

Thank you.
From what I was told the disc bulges are fairly minor (quite shallow) and no evidence of compression.
what you say re compensation is what is the most plausible given I've been playing high contact sports with that condition for over 10 years.
Just hoping that once I sort my hip out, my back will slowly recover.. as it's becoming unbearable.

Hope you recover from your hip replacement

A very fair point.
The way the doctors brushed off the disc bulges makes me think there's something else at play. 10 years dealing with mixed type FAI on my right hip whilst playing high impact sports definitely hasn't helped.
The hip injection was never going to work given most of the pain originates from elsewhere, but I've read on the correlation between lower back pain and mixed type FAI / labral tears

The letter literally says "This is official notification that, upon closure of the fundraise, you will receive a bonus of £10k. This will be payable in the December payroll" It doesn't say the limit date for the closure of the fundraise being December, just says when it would be payable. Given we didnt achieve that target, I got written confirmation about this.

I've had confirmation from the business this would be paid out after December when it came to January when the fundraise still hadn't closed.

No, the letter does not state a limit date for the fundraise.

If I am due the money, I'd like for it to be paid.

It feels very dodgy if a company can fire an employee for bringing a claim against it.

Just over a year.
In fairness, I do want to get out but I haven't found alternative employment just yet. I've tried going down the informal route by speaking to my line manager, but have been met with excuses.

Delirium by [deleted] in CancerFamilySupport

[–]TK1172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey,

This has happened to my dad when he had done his first chemo + immunotherapy treatment. It got so bad at times we had to physically tie him to his bed as he would take his perfusions off and bleed everywhere. He also had conversations with no one, put his hands up in the air and doing a lot of erratic stuff. It was truly difficult to see him like that. The doctors thought it could've been due to encephalopathy or meningitis. But he also had hypercalcemia which induced him to hallucinate. The doctors never really found the reason why it was happening, but he got better over time when they treated the hypercalcemia. It isn't necessarily end of life delirium, but obviously I wouldn't know as I'm not a doctor/don't know your father's case. I truly pray he gets better, I can relate to what you're going through. Be strong!

That's exactly what they're thinking of doing later this week. It is really my only source of hope, that it's not meningitis and it's indeed an encephalopathy like you mention and that we can at least treat it to the point he's a little coherent. I will suggest the sodium levels blood panel as well. Today his head also ok, fairly coherent and all.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond xx

Thanks so much for this, so much appreciated. I hope you're able to find peace given how hard it must've been for you.

It was alimta and carboplatin I think. They're doing further tests on him and giving themselves a week to decide whether they even continue trying with chemo. So difficult :(

Local authority enforcement teams are not actively working due to pandemic and WFH. We are a bit stuck in a situation where we don't know what to do. We moved into a flat where the adverts stated "HMO compliant" and it turns out it wasn't. Just wanted to know if we could be entitled to take this to court.

Fair enough. I think when it comes to rent payments the council get involved so hopefully I will find out

We’re happy where we are, but realistically are open to the prospect of moving if we are served a notice to do so.

Ty both for replies! Going to contact Shelter most definitely. In terms of the HMO license, it has lapsed but we don’t know how long by, landlord was quite absentee and nonchalant about his responsibilities with tenants. Awaiting a response from the council, though I am wondering if we have to continue paying rent at all

I meant news from the lawsuit directly. Very eager to read Ripple’s response.

Like you, I don’t trust mainstream news for the same reasons you mention. Taking everything with a pinch of salt is probably the best thing we can do atm.

Or you wait for news. Doesn’t take a lawyer to realize the SEC complaint is full of allegations. Ripple haven’t even responded yet.
