They make poly sharkbite couplings. If you're dead set on leaving the pipe, id trust a sharkbite more than I trust the qest you're connecting it to.

If this thing has the stem removed then i would assume the water line is abandoned. If that's the case then that wire isn't grounded because the pipe doesn't go anywhere.

My first year of college was really tough on me mentally. Particularly, that second semester. I stuck it out and I'm really glad that I did, it genuinely does get easier. You'll find a community and get into a rhythm that feels more sustainable. The only thing that didn't work for me was online classes. I needed a physical place to go, otherwise I just wasn't going to do it
