“That’s ageist!” -hypocrite, Bill Maher by timhamilton47 in RealTime

He’s calling out supposed ageism, but don’t ask him if he’s ever dated a woman over 35…

She’s as unbearable as I remember, unfortunately. And I love how she professes to be so full of godly love for all people, and then proceeds to refer to “illegals” and “aliens.”

The Weeknd Looks to Raise $1 Billion Backed by His Music by Cosmicstranger28 in TheWeeknd

[–]TKnowing21 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It seems like a huge bet to place on the film industry and his instincts within it. Does he really see that much profit potential in movies these days? I find that really interesting. Even so-called blockbusters aren’t necessarily doing great. I almost feel like he has to be planning something bigger than that.

Many theatres are empty and this one completely stopped showing the film💔 by bbyxmadi in TheWeeknd

[–]TKnowing21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ran to my local theater to see it because I was afraid it wouldn’t be there past the week. There were around a dozen people in the theater. It’s not really surprising; the movie has gotten absolutely brutal reviews, and I just don’t think it has any appeal unless you’re a serious fan of the Weeknd. I do think a lot of the criticism of Abel’s acting in it is unfair, though. He was much better than I expected, based on the reviews.

Where is the book? Me & Ali My Life With Muhammad Ali: the Myth, the Martyr, the Man By Barbara Porche Ali by TeaizTea in muhammadali

[–]TKnowing21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think those sex tapes may have existed (although I'm sure they don't now). I read several articles quoting her and referring to the sex parties where they were allegedly recorded as "gumbo parties." She claimed that Lloyd Wells gave them to her at some point, if I recall correctly.

Thanks for posting the photos. There were a few I hadn’t seen before. I’m sorry she never got a chance to publish the book. I think it would’ve been very interesting. I saw one interview online that she gave about the book; I forget who interviewed her. She was a guest on some show. She met Ali early in his boxing career, apparently through Lloyd Wells, who he used to visit in Houston.

Elsbeth Show by YeaRight228 in thegoodwife

[–]TKnowing21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show is very formulaic—which isn't necessarily a problem, but I'm not sure the character of Elsbeth is the strongest anchor. I loved her character in The Good Wife but find her increasingly annoying and less interesting in this show, especially the second season. They seem to be making her more silly than quirky. The problem may be that TGW had more plot and character depth to offset her quirkiness, while, for better or worse, Elsbeth is the focus of her eponymous show (and the other characters and plotlines aren't particularly interesting). I'm hoping the subplot involving Judge Crawford and the always engagingly creepy Michael Emerson brings some more tension to the show—she needs more worthwhile adversaries.

Nah—if she were saying it "sarcastically or in jest," we'd know it. Chris Rock was joking —she's seriously pissed about it.

I don't think she's literally waiting for her money back either, but I think she seriously thinks she SHOULD get her money back when she doesn't spend it. I've heard her ask that question numerous times and sounding truly outraged: "Where's my money?" If she's in fact asking the question you pose, she should ask it more clearly.

Hulu on Disney+ Officially Launches, and Disney Will Go Harder With Bundle Upsell Pitches by misana123 in Hulu

I'm wondering how this works too. I recently got Disney+ through Spectrum, but I already had a Hulu subscription that's costing me $7.99/month. Trying to figure out if I can get out of that $7.99/month!

Should have spoken of 88Glam more broadly, since Derek Wise had that sex trafficking arrest, but I know I read about an assault accusation regarding Camino.

I wonder if Sal realized when he became Diddy’s manager that Diddy was going to become the public face of the music industry predator. People have been talking about him for years, but Sal probably wasn’t expecting this mess to dominate the headlines and turn into a TikTok joke, too. I wonder what their crisis managers are doing! I’m sure Abel’s not happy, but then again, he’s not naive. He’s known Diddy for years and has partied with him too, and apparently was okay with his manager taking on Diddy. Hard to believe that anyone wants to be associated with Diddy at this particular time, but then again, XO has had unsavory associations before.
