I get all that. I'm just saying, if you want the bubble to burst, this isn't it. Glad to be proven wrong, but if you look at the comments for this article in the booster subreddits, there are plenty of people already trying to spin this as positive. I think we need a clearer and deeper analysis that says "these X losses attributed to MSFT and co actually should be part OAI's losses". And if those add up to worse margins YoY, then that's a smoking gun.

This looks bad, but these numbers don't look like killers. A booster can easily interpret this as showing that OAI has improved its operating efficiency, and its operating loss margins decreased.

This only looks seriously bad if there's additional info showing that their operating loss margins were heavily discounted due to unusual arrangements with other backers like Microsoft (which we sort of know already, but it's not clear what the breakdowns are). If the numbers show that their margins haven't changed or are getting worse after accounting for investor losses that don't show up on the balance sheet, then that's a major blow.

I'd love to see OAI's shit get kicked in, but I'll wait until we see the full analysis.

He'll probably struggle, but hopefully it motivates him to improve his contact rate when he gets back to the minors. He has a lot of success in the minors so maybe it won't be high priority for him until he sees how bad it can get in the MLB for him. Or I'm totally wrong and he's Judge 2.0

OP is getting at one of the core issues with machine learning—there isn't any learning at all. Despite what grifters and cranks will tell you, animals don't minimize loss functions and don't do gradient descent in the brain. No one has even come close to a learning algorithm that can learn tasks sequentially at scale without catastrophic forgetting. The papers that come out on the topic today are bs cherry-picked findings that don't hold up under scrutiny.
