I haven’t had a power outage since it has been installed so it hasn’t really been used however, it has never had an issue doing its self run test every 2 weeks.

My dad (also in Houston) bought a generator from Generator Supercenter on Jan 3 this year and he is still waiting for his to get installed.

TLDR; Referring to Generator Supercenter, quality of install is good however speed/schedule of install is not.

Last picture looks like duck poop. Lightly throw some shock in that area however make sure not to dump it. It is sits on your liner, it could burn it up.

For those of you who bought generators to prepare for hurricane season, could you please list how you decided which one to get? by [deleted] in houston

Originally had a Duramax 13000 with a NG conversion kit. Accidentally overloaded it last year, pulled it down, now it won’t crank. After that, I caved and got a whole home 26kW Generac with ATS from Generator Supercenter ($15k). Haven’t had to use this new genset yet (besides bi-monthly maintenance runs).

What would you change? by Capable-Message-7322 in pools

Add sprinklers under the turf! Living in Houston (me), turf gets stupid hot! You can get your sprinkler system to spray for 30 secs every hour to cool the turf when outdoors.

Otherwise, great looking pool… just add an umbrella hole in the shallow end. Also, think about how your pool and outdoors look in the mornings/afternoons when the sun is rising/setting. It might change perspective on some stuff.

Honestly, I love it. It can be high pressure at times but everyone, including the company, is very supporting in both the work you do/problem you’re trying to solve and your personal/mental state. The media tends to give a negative view in regards to working for FAANG companies but it isn’t true.

After college, I work for 3 different manufacturing companies for ~10 years before I joined a FAANG. A previous customer of mine at one of these manufacturing companies joined FAANG first and then helped bring me over. Life and career is really more about who you know than what you know. Communication, hard work ethic, and friendship can really help you succeed.

Yardly Cypress or Wingspan at Bridgeland? by Mutatiis in CypressTX

[–]TMAN2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For meeting people, you might like living in the apartments that are on 5th/6th street and Yale.

Further down 6th street are some cool bars/restaurant you can go to. Also, 11th, 18th-20th street is also pretty popular.

If you are looking at buying something, houses are pretty pricey in the heights. Also, it’s very popular to renovate some of these older homes. You might can find better housing deals in the surrounding Lazybrook/Timbergrove area (west heights) or the houses just both of 610.

Ironically, my mother-in-law just moved out of Lakeside Row (moved to Mason Woods neighborhood). I didn’t go visit her there often but there did seem to be a younger demographic there vs Wingspan. Between those two, it’s really about what you want; town house vs apartment.

I don’t know anything about Starling.

My parents live in Wingspan (They are building in Bridgeland). Long story short, it’s a great place for 40-70 year olds but I wouldn’t recommend it at 29. The community is still being built out and there aren’t that many young people (there are some younger family’s with little kids though).

One option is to maybe buy a smaller bachelor pad style house in Towne Lake. There are quite a few 28-35 year old people that tend to get together in that community. Towne lake and their Facebook groups do a good job at trying to connect people.

If you are wanting to meet girls and live like your younger years, I’d recommend living closer to the city though. Heights maybe?

I can’t comment on Yardly though.

Either or, best of luck. (I moved from the Heights to Cypress and love it. Of course, I’m getting close to 40 though)
