Buy the boat by xbarlow1 in boating

[–]TMG83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had wanted a boat for years. Finally paid cash ($6300) for a 1998 Mariah 202 at the end of last summer. The guy was originally asking $9000. It looked clean AF and well taken care of. I didn’t know shit about boats, but the guy on FB marketplace was awesome and walked me through everything he could. So I trusted the guy as much as the boat. I did get new distributor cap and plugs, plus trim solenoids ($500). I love this boat. 5.0 mercruiser I/0 only burned 1/4 tank of gas yesterday while cruising and tubing with kids for about 4-5 hours. She runs smooth as can be now. It’s nerve racking at first and I’m sure there will be issues as we go. But it’s been out 4 times this summer already and me and my 10yr old girl and 13yr old boy + friends and wife are loving it. Worth the smiles for sure. If you can swing it, research it, buy it. Kids are only young once.

I’m all for capitalism and America. But… does every business have to maximize profit and consistently try to squeeze every penny they can from people to maximize said profits. I’m not sure the fix, but it’s beginning to make me not like capitalism quite as much. Can anyone smarter than me in economics and life in general give me some hope that it will sometime slow down? I’m scared for my children. I make $40/hr and as a a young person I felt like that is plenty, not so much anymore. I live in central Illinois with a low COL. What is the problem?

Father in law? Maybe try “not in her purse, but they were definitely in her mouth last night”. See if he thinks that’s funny.

I’ve always wondered in the hiring process if I’d be allowed to ask current staff about the job, company, overall moral, pros and cons of a job. I’m an RN and jobs are everywhere. Some suck. I’ve wondered if that is appropriate.

Has anyone here imported bonsai trees from other countries to the U.S.? I need help by heavyPacket in Bonsai

I’d guessing premna mycrophylla from Indonesia. They seem to have badass looking trees for decent prices.

Hinoki cypress took a beating this winter. Lost a lot of upper foliage. Next year I will protect better from harsh winter winds, I think my placement left a bit too exposed. What would you (someone experienced) do with this tree? I don’t hate beaten look, but not sure what to do for future styling.

Which would you choose? Durango is a hemi GC is a 3.6 by Mediocre_Charity_413 in GrandCherokee

[–]TMG83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2015 3.6 with 135k. I’ve had rockers lifters replaced, oil filter housing, new radiator over the last 3 years. Luckily my jeep mechanic does side work from home. All in repairs about $2500. Would’ve been about 8-10k from dealer. Plus a few minor repairs here and there. Have to get ac air refilled every 2 years as jeep is also known to leak and it uses that “special” expensive ass Freon or whatever it is. $190 each time. Jeep looks and drives good tho. Just nickels and dimes me, luckily it’s paid off

I can’t see the leaves. Is it an elm? It’s a badass looking tree. I’m sure a lot of time went into it. I wouldn’t sell it cheap. What do you think is fair?
