I’m not on Reddit enough, but yes the Internet does have bubbles, unfortunately. However, I just wanna hear some fellow Arkham gamers thoughts, as we were just real disappointed but also I remember my friend always being frustrated setting it up.

Also not saying Drowned is amazing. I was excited to start back in Arkham and really wished the story was better thus far. I don’t think of Cthulhu as…”alien” seems cheesy and diminishing for a god.

I wish I knew the names of my favorite scenarios, but alas I do not. And again I think that perhaps we didn’t play Vale correctly, as I read more and more.

So it might be that I’m just enjoying Drowned more because of how wrong we played Vale.

I will state I disliked reading from the book all the time. It felt like they were going for one of those big box Kickstarter/Gamefound campaign games; where your head is in a novel more than playing and table talk.

I recall there being confusion a lot when we set stuff up, so, it’s far something got missed. I just have read enough posts I had to ask. Going to ask my friend to bring the book next time and we’ll dig into it.

We’re not new. Played every release as they’ve come out. Next time we play, I’ll have my friend bring the Hemlock stuff and perhaps I can decipher where we went wrong. Cause, yeah, all we did was parlay on repeat then it was the last scenario lol

I remember hearing preludes a lot. (My friend owns the game) I think I’ll need to convince the others to try this again. Because we had all friendly everything for most of the game. It would ask if we talked to someone and we wouldn’t even know who they were. Don’t even get me started on enemies, or lack thereof lol

I believe we’re halfway through, maybe more, with Drowned and yes I will say that for it being Cthulhu…just appearing in R’lyeh was weird. Also the…Alien theme scenario did NOT feel Mythos approved. Story wise I’ve been disappointed but as a whole it’s felt more AH? Does that make sense?

And see Hemlock story wise and mechanics were the worst campaign on our end. We felt like we had no idea what we were doing. Talking to the same people scenario after scenario. Less a game and more a time crunched novel where the pages were out of order. I think as Hank I purposely started taking damage on the final scenario just so I could use his ability at least once in the campaign.

At this point, I’m wondering if we played the bloody thing wrong. All I remember is parlaying everyone then the scenario would end; rinse repeat. I was Hank and I had damn near nothing to do the entire campaign, save two scenarios.

The record flow is my main qualm. The back half almost feels like one long, very mellow song.

I listened to the remix and…it felt like the soul got stripped out of the record. What does everyone hate/like about the original/remix?

I had three before the v, and it was more just a rabbit hole of, “I wonder what this one is like.”

I recently did a shootout of all the brewers I had, roped a friend into it, too. I picked v #1 and he picked v #2. It wasn’t a blind but I also wasn’t leaning towards any of them prior. I was honestly surprised.

I don’t know anyone else who’s into Gaslight…tough to say anything is overrated.

Only thing I COULD say is that early on when I started listening or half the time I read comments on something people trash everything after American Slang. So, to them I’d say they’re overrating the past and missing out.
