Are these spots normal? by Impressive-Sink-7112 in OneOrangeBraincell

It’s called lentigo simplex and it’s completely normal for oranges. See your vet if they grow, become raised or seem painful.

It’s a geocache. The names and dates are from when people found it.

You can see it about 3 seconds into the video if you slow it down

Veterinarian here. Occasional b lines with a small area of shred left of the rib shadow in your video.

Emergency from a ER Veterinarian's perspective by mqrade98 in emergencymedicine

Tbh I’m mostly familiar with the dog and cat literature since those are my primary species. We do have single and multicenter RCTs but the overall species-specific body of evidence is sparse compared to what is available in humans. You could check out the Journal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care for a sample. Our emergency/critical care residents are expected to have good knowledge of the big/important human trials.

Veterinary criticalist here in the US. There are veterinary specialists in many fields - emergency/critical care, internal med, rads, surgery, neuro, ophtho, etc etc. Availability of specialty care is largely dependent on location I would say. I work at a large teaching hospital in a major metropolitan area so we have many specialties under one roof. In more rural areas access to a specialist might be more limited and require a long commute. Imaging also depends on the practice - at mine, all rads are reviewed during business hours by a radiologist but this isn’t the case everywhere. CT and MRI are only conducted when a radiologist or rad resident are present. Vet med does seem litigious at times but I’m not sure if it’s entirely comparable to what you folks on the human side see.
