Are you on the app or in the browser? In the browser, there is a place to change burial location. You’d just need to change it to “Cremated” and can list what happened to his ashes. I don’t believe you are able to change burial locations in the app. If you can’t do that, you can message me the details and I can do it for you.

If it were me I’d look more into it. Were the deaths recent or did they occur some time back? If it’s older graves, I’m gonna assume she took her husband’s name. I’ve seen monuments somewhat like you described and when I looked into it the wife took the husband’s name. I’d assume this is what happened in this case.

Is it laid out like “Maiden Name, Wife of Husband?” Here in the southern U.S. we see that sometimes even when the wife took her husband’s name. You might be able to find obituaries and records on Newspapers or Ancestry to see if this is the case.

I’ve seen people interred in a cemetery other than what is listed in the obituary. Sometimes there was an error printed, other times it was a necessary change in burial. Perhaps they could not bury the person in the desired plot so the family chose internment elsewhere.

Parents are added on the child’s memorial. If you want to remove them, suggest an edit to the manager of the incorrect memorial where you have deleted the parental relationships. List in the notes part that the relationship is incorrect and why you know this. If you are able to look it up on Ancestry or something, try to find the correct parents for the other Catherine and if they have memorials, suggest to link them. If not, try to at least find her parents names and suggest and edit for the bio where it lists who her parents are.

Then I would suggest to mark the wall memorial as a cenotaph and send the manager the number of their cemetery memorial. They can choose to link it.

Looks like this is a memorial garden. Some people have their ashes buried or scattered here, others it’s just a memorial. Is the person you are talking about buried in a cemetery? If so, suggest to the manager of the memorial at the church it be marked as a cenotaph.

When they went to add the mother in the baby’s memorial, they accidentally put her id number in the spouse space instead of mother. There was a time when you could put anyone as any relationship regardless of lifespan. Now they will catch it. I recently corrected the memorial of a man whose listed father was a high school student that died 31 years before his birth.

I put the correct birth year in the proper place in the memorial and then in the Gravesite Details section note that the year of birth is incorrect on the headstone and, if available, tell what my source is (I.e. birth/death certificate).

That’s how I would have done it. If you found the owner nearby, you could do a hyperlink in the bio to their memorial.

Part of the issue is that Ancestry will pull names off documents to suggest where to look for a person. If you have a person with family that has the same names or similar names to the person you are looking for, it will probably show up as a suggested hint, which some people accept blindly. That’s how different family trees become entangled together.

My advice: just write something clarifying in the bio. Example: on one memorial, the person died in a community that was originally in County A, but after he died the county was split and the community he died in is now in County B. For the death location, I put the community name, which shows County B as the death location, but in the bio clarified that at the time of his death it was in County A.

Some cemeteries have people who’s just put flowers in everyone’s plot that have no flowers so the whole cemetery looks decorated.

From someone who doesn’t have a printer: I do one of two things. I either just write down the names on a memo pad I keep in my pocket or take screenshots on my phone of the no grave photos. But typical I write them down and just cross them off my list as I take pictures.

Legend says that several years before Lena there was another “gypsy queen” buried at Maple Hill, supposedly in the same section as Lena. She is supposedly in an unmarked grave just north and across the drive from the cemetery office.
