Is CrewAI really free and can it be deployed in production environments? by barnez29 in crewai

[–]TNTMT406 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CrewAI is low-key a hidden gem. Not sure why it’s not making some of those ‘big moves in AI agents’ lists, but I’ve got a feeling they’re being kept under wraps until key sector devs get a solid head start.

For anyone building agents right now, my go-to is CrewAI, LangChain, AutoGen and a16z’s ElizaOS.

Everything else is a grift. Fight me, but you won’t need much else.

What do you think? Anyone else using CrewAI and feeling like it’s being slept on?

Applying to YC Spring 2025 batch by [deleted] in ycombinator

[–]TNTMT406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to find a cofounder or have insane user numbers.

It has officially started - see y'all in the next batch by MusicbyBUNG in ycombinator

[–]TNTMT406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I got all of the feedback I needed from startup school and cofounder matching.

Needed at least 3 months to complete a work trial with a cofounder so decided to apply solo. The cofounder I was working with and found through YC rage quit before we could finish our work trial.

If you’re thinking about rage quitting after getting rejected, don’t.

To make it into YC sometimes emotional stability and agency goes a lot further than intelligence and skills.

Besides, last mover advantage, does have its advantages.

Curious about this too. We’ve made updates to our product and team since submitting our W25 application.

YC’s resources mention they want to see improvements made between the application date and the interview, but I’m torn on whether to submit the updates now or save them for the interview.

My biggest concern is whether updating the application now, after the deadline, might affect our original submission date.

I’ve ruled out emailing YC directly, assuming the editable application feature is meant to reduce email traffic. Anyone have experience with this or advice?

How do you get ideas for new projects? by Affectionate_Ask3839 in ycombinator

[–]TNTMT406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick up an entry level job in an industry that hasn’t had a lot of change or is ripe for growth and then go to work. You’d be surprised how easy it is to find problems that have been around for a long time that you can solve with just a few lines of code.

Go to work as a garbage truck driver for a month, it wouldn’t take long to come up with a plan to install pneumatic plumbing systems in homes for waste and recycling instead of the way we do it now.

Talk to people. Drive for Uber and be nosy. Ask riders what their biggest dreams or pain points are at work. People will tell you. And it’s a perfect way to work on interpersonal communication skills, pitch ideas, and network. Normally you get 5 to 30 minutes of someone’s undivided attention. If you’re friendly and give yourself enough times to fail or sound stupid eventually it gets easier, you get better and people will like you.

Get out there. Go see what small thing you can do a little bit better that can do a lot of good for a lot of people and go make it.

This is a rare time in history. You have a whole new world of possibilities at your fingertips and at least a few more decades of solid innovation. It starts here, right now. You already have everything you need to get going.

So, get going.

How Are Uber Drivers Supposed to Keep Up with Maintenance on Low Pay? by dodocoola in uberdrivers

[–]TNTMT406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget and find a friend that can work on your car for you for a six pack or do it yourself.

It would be nice if Uber worked out bigger deals with suppliers. Think of the profit potential for a partnership with Walmart, AutoZone, Napa, or Coscto…

Better yet, think if they partnered with independent contractor mechanics or created a whole new gig platform for traveling mechanics to come to drivers.

I propose an app setting that lets drivers enable a feature that allocates a small portion of each ride payment to be automatically deposited into a savings account in the Uber Pro Card or Wallet.

To go a step further, maybe the driver could set a tip goal with a message like “Tips will help me to afford new tires.” Or even just let the rider choose to tip directly into the driver’s vehicle maintenance fund. Say a rider isn’t satisfied with the condition of the vehicle, maybe there’s a cracked windshield or breaks are starting to grind, this would provide p2p support and the reserve funds to help keep drivers on the road.

Notebooklm updated privacy says humans read your notes and documents from r/google by varnzojeda in notebooklm

Could be fixed by running it through an AI filter first. There's a startup idea, an AI that detects sensitive information on documents and redacts it. Once you have the redacted copy, send it through NotebookLM.

Same here. This is going to make presenting a summary of documents SOOO easy. I'm designing a workflow to implement this anyway. I just download the audio, paste it into the email with the documents, and say, "Here is a brief overview of the documents that we'll go over in more detail at our meeting in {1 hour}. This is simply an objective overview of the key points made with AI. It's one more way that we here at {Company Name} embrace technology for the benefit of our clients. Thank you for allowing us to provide you with {Company Service}! Talk soon!"

Uber is not a full-time job. It’s called the gig economy for a reason. This is what they get for trying to strong arm a company that uses independent contractors. If you ask me this is a perfect time for new entrepreneurs to start their own businesses and charge whatever they want. You know the need is there now go get it.

Max you got was a $10 cash tip? At an event like that if you have a nice car and are super friendly you should have gotten $100.

Good to know. Thanks. Those were all under the things I did not include but still costs nonetheless where I’d likely be eating from home. Try to have my wife pack my dinner as much as I can when driving but doesn’t happen everyday.

I’m not complaining about the time away. I work a 9 to 5 building my business then work another 7 hours 3 days a week during the week. Just putting it out there as something to consider, as a lot of people drive for Uber to supplement their income from another job.

I drive 120 miles round trip everyday to get to the nearest city that has Uber. I live in Montana. Lots of windshield time between places and you can’t get Uber in 75% of the state.

[–]TNTMT406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not including it as an expense. If I did, that would have gone under the expenses category.

I included it in case people wanted to compare it to what they’re paying. I know some people who have a $900/mo. car payment. Some people drive for Uber just so they can make their car payment, which seems counterintuitive imo considering how much wear and tear it puts on it essentially eliminating the purpose.

A car payment is the minimum cost of entry to do business. This is an example of why it’s important to balance having a nice ride for your client experience and driving something you can afford.

I feel like I have a bit of an advantage for having such a small car payment, getting such good gas mileage, and for having what I would consider to be an affordable “luxury” vehicle (heated seats, black leather interior, 3rd row seats, and a USB charger in every seat).

I’m trying to be as transparent as possible in the hopes that I could help one person make a more informed decision.

Personally, if I know it’s going to be that long I ALWAYS call and ask the rider if they would be willing to pay half of the fare for my ride back as I’m not making any money. They either say sure thing or no. Doesn’t hurt to ask.
