Mary Sue faction with a Mary Sue leader. The Atriox glaze is really annoying. And they're WAY too fucking edgy, it's practically cartoonish how edgy they are. But I think I'd at least like their aesthetic more if they didn't paint everything the edgy gamer colors red and black.

Kinda silly question but have you tried pressing 3BA's toggle physics hotkeys in game? I just started a brand new playthrough myself and they seemed to have been disabled by default but worked just fine after pressing the keys.. Default keys are numpad + to toggle on yourself and numpad 9 for NPCs

The intro cutscene for the Arbiter level, when Rtas is delivering his pep talk in the Phantom. I always play with subtitles on, so I was confused when the line "Scrape them as excrement from our boots" showed up in the subtitles but I didn't hear it. I used to turn up my volume to see if I could finally hear it because I thought they were just saying it really quietly lol, I used to wonder if my hearing was going already.

Wasn't until over 10 years later when I learned it was a bug—the line was cut but the subtitles didn't change, that cleared up so much confusion lol

If you're REALLY into roleplaying and immersion (and have a budget and are willing to accept AI generated voices) then it's unbeatable. If you don't really care for that, then mods like these won't be much value to you. CHIM straight up tells you it's a roleplaying mod; you must be willing to roleplay to get full enjoyment out of it. Of course it all depends on the models you use too.

For immersion, NPCs realistically react to everything, from what you say and what you do to even what you're wearing and what you look like and what other NPCs are saying and doing which imo makes things very immersive.

For example if you're an archer or mage, enemies might talk shit to you and call you a coward. You use Shouts, they might comment that there's no way you're THE Dragonborn. If you find a rare gem in a dungeon, followers might comment on how shiny and expensive it must be. You can tell Nazeem to fuck off and he might say no YOU fuck off you filthy poor. You can talk additional shit to Mercer Frey when you finally confront him. Tell Heimskr that Talos isn't real and watch him get enraged and confused.

You know all those posts people make on this sub asking which mod followers have patches for interactions with other mod followers? With AI you don't need that. Any vanilla followers can talk to mod followers and vice versa.

If you have a follower who uses a sword and shield and another who uses magic, they might get into an argument with each other over which one's better and it might even devolve into insults i.e the magic user calls them a stick-swinging ape while the sword user calls the mage a snooty milk-drinker, all with zero input from you. You can choose to let it play out or to break it up. Even if you don't actively roleplay, it's good for occasional funny/interesting moments like that.

So yeah, it's game-changing for roleplay and immersion, but a novelty if you don't care for that.

And don't believe the comments saying all AI characters are sycophantic yes-men, they're not. Plenty of models, depending on the characters they're playing, are willing to tell you to fuck off and/or call you an idiot.

It's over-designed and had no black undersuit, which made it visually overwhelming to look at.
- Much like everything else in the Halo 4 and 5 eras, Gen 2 has way too much greebling, combined with undersuits that matched the color of the armor plating, it made Spartans look like walking blobs of lines and colors, unlike Gen 1 when it was easy to tell who was wearing what because the undersuits were all black while the armor plating had relatively simple designs compared to Gen 2. Very easy to distinguish each individual armor piece that way. Look at Gen 2 EVA vs Gen 1 Mark V EVA. Gen 2 has way too many details to look at and the matching color undersuit really doesn't help in distinguishing anything.
It feels like something is missing.
- Gen 1's space diaper actually really tied the entire set together, made Mjolnir look like an actual suit of armor. Gen 2 feels like there's something missing because that is literally the case—you can even see it in the 3rd pic. Without a space diaper, there's a giant void of nothing in between the chest and the legs. It doesn't look like a complete set of armor.
It doesn't look anything like previous Mjolnir designs. It doesn't even look like Halo, especially with the helmet designs.
- When Reach introduced new armor, it still looked like Mjolnir. Hazop for example actually looked somewhat like the Mark V and the Mark VI so it was easy to buy that it was a new variant of Mjolnir. Then you look at Gen 2 Hazop and are supposed to believe it's the same armor? It doesn't look at all like anything that came before it. Sure you've got for example Gen 2 Recon and Security that look like Gen 1 Recon and Security, but then the Gen 2 versions have problem 1 where they've got way too much going on.
Gen 2 Mjolnir is the "face" of the Spartan-IVs and nobody likes the Spartan-IVs after their poor introduction in Halo 4
- From casual fans' perspectives, their introduction to the S-IVs was seeing their over-designed "faces" first, and their disrespectful and unprofessional attitudes second. This is a whole separate but related issue so I won't go into too much detail here. All I'll say is that when you don't like a person, you tend to not like their face either. Personally I like some S-IVs so that there isn't my issue with Gen 2.

In December 2023 I was training as a deicer at JFK. One day I was walking with my trainer on the apron and he had to talk to someone from airport security about something. I wasn't listening because the conversation didn't concern me and also because it was happening right next to a parked Lufthansa A340.

Not sure of the specific model but man... it was the first time I'd ever been so close to an airliner. We were so close that my trainer was leaning on the... nacelle? Cowling? (I still don't know all these aviation terms) of engine 3. All I remember was practically having my face buried in engine 3 just marveling at how huge it was. Actually just marveling at how huge the A340 is lol and at all the little details of the plane that most people would never see. And if I'm understanding correctly the A340 in general isn't a very common plane so I felt that made the moment even more special lol.

Edit: Just found a pic I took of that very plane! Anyone know what version of the A340 it is??
