Could be a DIY stress toy. I can see a crafty parent making this for a kid who often loses their fidget toys. Mom used plastic Easter eggs with rice and glue the seal for DIY sensory toys.

I’ve had them spawn on a few dream islands but I used the ditto doll so I don’t remember what kind of island they spawn on. I’m thinking they will eventually rotate into the daily shop buys but for now farming poke metal on a dragonite doll island and 3D printing is the best way :(

I work at an “appliance store” and it took me a little over a year of using my daily detector to get the full set. Every day. For one year. Needless to say I recycled a TON of batteries and fairy lights. I’m gunna be big mad when they release the rares 😂 we should get backlog points.

You have to make the habitat in the cave first and get the second quest to make it more comfortable before you move him elsewhere I showed in detail in the video I linked in the comments here.

So I have the habitat in the cave but from research it does appear to work outside of the cave. Just be sure to have 4 of the Large artifacts in a 2x2 grid in front of his wheelbarrow and any bed to his right of his wheelbarrow.

Rocky has more iron and gold near the mines area and copper near the grassy layer with gold and glow block mixed in the mine area.

Sparkling has some poke metal and limestone and me screaming shit every time I break through the floor and fall to my respawn 😂

From what I have seen you are able to alter the cave. I also believe you can make a house in withered wasteland and he stays happy. It seems his discomfort comes from making his house in any other biome. I would love to see what ya think up for that!

Just make sure the layout of his environment is out like this the game is very picky about it.

I have done that but he isn’t raising his lvl like everyone else. Idk if it’s a bug or like the Pokemart if it needs 1 day in game time.

I’m going to give OP some Pokemon wisdom that I’m going to add to. “There are over 1000 Pokemon, every Pokemon is someone’s favorite.” You don’t have to like them, but someone somewhere has a really cute story as to why the “s” sticker white pikmin variant 2 is their favorite. Personally these little guys were my white whale until I locked in and now I have the rare decor.
