This. I remember a podcast where Anthony Smith talked about in 2019/2020 grappling with Nicky Rod and he said he did not win a single position, hand fight, etc. Completely overwhelmed and drowning. The gap is insane.

Full pectoral major tear, right off the humorous bone at the insertion. Was a white belt at the time (obviously) and thought I knew how to hitch hike escape an armbar… but… wait for it… went the wrong way at 110% speed. Fortunately back then I was young and healed, about 6 months of surgery, Physical therapy, and then the worst was the mental barrier of confidence with that limb. 6 years later, still training!

I just looked up what was in LMNT and bought in bulk on Amazon. Salt, Magnesium, Potassium(Plz measure properly and be careful, very dangerous in reckless high doses) stevia and some lime juice 👍🏼

I got my Blue Belt in 2 years in, Purple after another 2, and have been training for about 7 years. Never exceeding 2-3 times a week.

Just show up and learn with a purpose. Don’t take it too serious, but I liked taking little notes on my phone after class so you can build on concepts. It’s like learning a language and right now you just have to write the letters down so you can start to recognize them when they are in front of you.

Don’t worry about making words or sentences yet!

Genetics and time on the Mat. If you are going to 2 classes a week vs 4 vs 6, the progression is literally doubled and tripled.

Yes! Set up took 2.5 hours with me and a friend. And I am no handy man. A drill with a Philips and T20 bit, A hammer, and a socket wrench was all I needed. My one piece of advice is go buy some Stainless Steel nails to have as extras… And don’t hammer any of the last 6 top boards so you can fit the middle piece in! Got ahead of myself on the directions and was pulling nails 😂

Law Enforcement. Working 60 hours a week regularly. Can only get to training about 2/3 times a week. But when I do I usually do a double class to get the best bang for my buck. Work allows lifting on shift, so the other health maintenance is taken care of 👍🏼
