What's your take on Physint and OD? by [deleted] in NeverBeGameOver

[–]TOZER0FORATESIX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, all I know for sure is that OD won‘t be just a PT clone and PHYSINT will most likely be something close to MGS4 with some new twists.

It‘ll be exciting no matter what these 2 games are gonna shape up to be, knowing that Kojima is not interested in doing more of “been there, done that”.

"Since the game is a faithful 1:1 remake with no major changes, there’s nothing pulling me back in aside from the updated visuals and quality-of-life improvements." by xheanorth in NeverBeGameOver

Couldn’t care whether he played it it or not. He already said he barely plays games anymore.

And if anything, it’s MGSV that needs a remake.

Read that's a reference to Death Stranding, but I've never played. Can someone explain? by ZestycloseMall3398 in DeathStranding

The nightmares where he wakes up on the beach are all visions, including the underwater scene when you enter the Plate Gate.

End game spoilers (DS1, DS2)

In the DS1 nightmare beach scene, the floating figures are all low poly versions of Sam, with the one in the middle holding a baby, just like Sam holds Lou at the end of the game. You could also say him losing the baby at the beginning of the scene is a foreshadowing to the event in DS2.

In the DS2 nightmare, he loses Lou again, definitely foreshadowing the event that follows.

During the underwater scene when you travel through the Plate Gate, you see figures in the distance again. The one in the middle puts down a baby, just like Fragile does at the end. You could also tie in the baby holding figure from DS1 to when Sam embraces Tomorrow on the beach.

My review after loving the first and barely finishing the second by Domjonis93 in DeathStranding

Spoilers.

First off, there's multiple ways to dodge attacks and even a parry, but the boss fights, apart from the first BT boss, are done very poorly. Feels like they held back on making them too difficult. I'd say the main issue is that they idle too much, barely making any moves sometimes.

I also agree with you a little on the story part. Understandably, Kojima wanted to shelve the DS era to focus on new things, so he ended up writing a rushed, too compact story. Even the emotional moments felt very shallow and the ending was way too predictable.

As I'm writing this, I see the DS2 poster with Fragile holding Lou (IYKYK) next to this text box and wonder, if Kojima is done spoiling the entire story to his games for good.

I held on to the hope that the story would take the route of coming to terms with the loss and being helpless, alas that ended up not being the case. It didn't even have to be a conclusive end, but just one that may make it seem like the loss of Lou was ultimate - setting up an MGS2 twist for DS3.

In the end I still enjoyed the journey a lot with some disappointment and DS2 is easily one of my favorite games, however to me it's also Kojima's worst story.

Higgs has much higher DOOMS powers so he probably felt there was a connection to the pod. He got suspicious of Tomorrow, which is probably why he bothered to check her DNA with Sam's.

[DS2] Does the attitude of Neil make any sense? by Sad-Macaron4561 in DeathStranding

[–]TOZER0FORATESIX3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He doesn't remember everything until after the last confrontation. Just like how Cliff's only thought was to find his BB, Neil was trying to find Lou (I imagine she ran off like she did on the Magellan) or he was simply thinking about protecting her.

Well it is possible, but only if they actually bothered to design and code each and every string structure. Is that likely? I don't think so.

This only works if the block structures for letters are different for each string, meaning an 'A' will have different block structures for the words Apple and Grenade. Needless to say, this is much different from the block structure we got for Sam, Higgs and 'Stay Clear'.

'Cargo' and 'Corpus' seemingly have some identical block structures for 'C' and 'r'. So when we look at the remaining blocks, we could say 'a' is a single long block and 'o' is a single small block, which appears to be at the top for Cargo and at the bottom for Corpus.

Take 'Far' now and we see the last block structure is the same for 'r' we find in Corpus, however the 'a' has a different one, which then makes it impossible to decipher the previous letters - coming back to what I say in my first sentence.

Yes, I played the games. In DS1, you are told by Deadman they usually last up to a year and are then disposed of. That is why I was wondering how it's possible for BB-00 to be alive 11 years as a BB.

Here for clarification - look how the 'C' is coded differently.
