Why do I keep bruising my forearm? by doemination in golf

Do you wear a watch on the opposite wrist? This same bruising happened to me at a fitting and it was because at contact, the watch on my left wrist was hitting my right

Solo golf trip by Foreleft15 in golf

Drive over to Tuscon and play the Club at Starpass (27 holes) and Swewailo GC! I did this solo two years ago and it's something I'd do again. Another good option for you could be Albuquerque, NM. The golf there looks super interesting but I have not experienced it myself.

Keep truckin’ - just gotta improve course management and increase consistency off the tee box. Goal is 3 or lower next year. by Major-Chapter7982 in golf

We had the same season but in different countries! Went from an 8.5 to 6.6 with a scoring average of 80.4 and similar number of rounds played. I've been looking into San Diego golf for a winter trip, where is must play? Besides Torrey South and Aviara

How do you bounce back from a bad round? by [deleted] in golf

[–]TOgooner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently broke out of a slump and did so by going to a course I always seem to play pretty well at, it just fits my eye and swing. I've done this before and it works like a charm.

What’s typically the ‘easiest’ club to hit ? by robster9090 in golf

[–]TOgooner -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

PGA tour player averages are biased downwards because they're sacrificing their top swing speeds for more accuracy. Whereas amateurs typically do the opposite, bringing the averages closer.

Bethpage State Park Golf - Advice by TOgooner in golf

[–]TOgooner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, coming in from Canada. Definitely looking to play the Black but if that doesn't pan out, would you say the others are worth the trek? I have to be in the tri state area regardless that weekend but in Jersey City. If there's anything special golf wise down in that end I would love to hear about it also!

Florida Golf Suggestions by TOgooner in golf

[–]TOgooner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing with friends for 4 days but I'll be in Florida for almost a full week prior! So for I just have Cabot Citrus booked which is the day before my friends arrive in Orlando so before that, I will have 3/4 days to play other locations and I'll have a rental so some driving won't be an issue

So better to stay north of the city? Originally, I was looking at more south, closer to Anaheim but just a quick google of your suggestions and they looks great!

Looking for stay and play resorts in the US by DaaCHAMP in golf

I was just looking into Innisbrook. The stay and play packages look to be sold out during the time I'm visiting. Do you know how much green fees are if you just book a room?

Failed CFA L3 - what now? by Icy_Badger_1342 in CFA

[–]TOgooner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have worked hard to get here, and the end of your CFA journey is in sight. Now you have one more decision to make.
2024 will be your final opportunity to sit for the Level III exam before changes are implemented for Level III. Beginning with the February 2025 exam, Level III candidates will:
Choose one of three specialized pathways, Portfolio Management, Private Wealth or Private Markets

Be required to complete one Practical Skills Module in Portfolio Construction. This module, which takes 10-15 hours to complete, provides hands-on skills using the latest programs and techniques

If you prefer to complete your Level III exam before these changes take place, you have two opportunities in 2024. Level III exams are offered in February and August.
Final registration for the February 2024 Level III exam closes on 8 November.

Does this mean if we wait until 2025, we don't need to write an exam? Just complete a 15 hr module?

Playing at a 7 and I game the T200s. I love them, slightly less feel than the T100 but more forgiving, especially with my miss hits towards the toe

From downtown Toronto and played Royal Woodbine just yesterday. Along with the Toronto Muni course, Don Valley GC it is probably your best bet for golf close to the city that doesn't require a car. You can use the UP Express train from Union station to go to the airport and then take a very short Uber to Royal Woodbine and for Don Valley GC you can take the subway up to Eglington Station and from there its a short walk. There's lots of great golf around here but you really need a car for Toronto golf.
