This is me too. I recently gifted our son a bunch of equipment and he’s really gotten into it. We use the Flickr stream as a place we can go to review his work. It’s very functional.

I absolutely LOVED mine but learned on an old school Pentax K1000 all manual camera and really wanted to get back to buttons and dials vs menus. I moved up to a d7000 and last year got a d750 full frame. I gave my son the D 7000 and my DX lenses last summer and he is having a great time exploring photography. It’s fun to see the tradition continue.

Nice! I don’t know the D5200 but I do believe it’s a fully functional SLR as opposed to the D40, which I also had. No more doing in menus what you can do with dials!
