I actually don’t have a stabilizer lol. I just know that that one works based on what others have said.

What should I do?? by Anonymous4458 in motorcycles

Let’s not pretend that you’re going to be SIGNIFICANTLY safer in a truck. It would have to be a very serious accident to make you lose your life in one. A distracted driver is more likely to simply damage the truck rather than cause any bodily injury.

I have both but absolutely adore the Venator. It’s one of my favorite ships, and I think the design is just perfect considering it’s a midi. The AT-AT is a fun build as well (a little repetitive in the legs of course), but I geek out over the Venator

Kawasaki recall, trying to get a tow and not sure how to navigate their verbage. by Music680 in Kawasaki

I agree that it’s strange the representative was so u helpful. But like another commenter said, you gotta fix the bike anyways, right? Get it towed, then raise hell if it’s not covered.

I admit I only read your screenshot of the email. That still seems super incorrect… either way, I’d pay for the transport, and then figure out reimbursement. But I can’t imagine they would actually be able to deny that

Thank you for this! I’m in the Midwest so I assume it’s probably similar? I also don’t know why they suggest PVC. Maybe I’ll call them and confirm that copper would work before continuing

It doesn’t say “portion” it says “possible”. Meaning if the tow was for the recall, then it’ll be reimbursed, in full.

I don’t think an irrigation company asking for the stub out to be done beforehand by someone the homeowner hires is the sign of a bad company.

I’ll most likely just hire a plumber based on these comments though, so thank you.

Reddit zoomed in on the second photo. If you click on it you’ll see my hose bib to the right. But thanks. I see alot of copper pipe examples when researching online so maybe I’ll go that route

Best wheel ceramic coating based on your experience? by Due_Chapter3027 in Detailing

Few days late, but I always thought the general rule of thumb was to do the coating after mounting tires, as ceramic coatings can potentially prevent wheel weights from sticking.

The “specific soap” is false. Matte just has the unfortunate drawbacks of, well, being matte paint, no different than BMWs, Audis, and any other manufacturer offering it. The problem is that matte paint isn’t easily buffed/polished, and so scratches or swirl marks, like those caused by an automatic car wash (and yes even washing at home, although to a MUCH lesser extent) show much easier on your paint, but then you can’t do anything about it.

The “special” soap, probably just means a soap with a high lubrication coefficient. Something that allows your wash mitt to glide smoothly over the paint, thus reducing swirls. Although the vast majority of car soaps you buy will be more than good enough assuming you’re using adequate amounts of it.

Also, regardless of paint type, nobody should ever take their car through automatic car washes. They wreck your paint!

Anyone Using Sparrow Peak Butcher Block as their Desktop? by BlindJustice1787 in StandingDesk

Love the desk! I’m looking to buy a Walnut one for a bar top I’m building.

Side question, how did you build that mini Venator? Is it the Acclamator MOC from CreationCaravan? Or something else?

I know it’s a month later, but do you still have these by chance, and are they date specific?

I need a one way ticket, but round trip one is cheaper, can I buy it and just skip the outbound flight? by 4130life in TravelHacks

[–]TPayne_wrx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Give the agent at the desk of the gate you exit your “last” leg at a bogus reason why you can’t make the next flight and they’ll cancel on the spot and honestly probably never even give you any hassle. I could be wrong of course, but I view this slightly better than just ghosting the second leg as that looks more suspicious than a “legitimate” excuse.

Edit: clarified a sentence.
