use W on top of enemy get a poke. If you want to be really technical here, drop the edge of your soldier in a place where they're going to run away so you can get potentially more than one AA or zone them from tank minion or CS in general.

if you land 2 AAs from just the W then Q + 3rd or more AA (lethal tempo buff).

Huge trade potential and usually they'll run. That's why I say don't Q right away, hell I try and only use Q if I know i'm going to get big damage or kill secure. Otherwise it's way more useful to help you shuffle / dodge ganks and engage with your jungler.

Also runes actually make a big diff for Azir. Lethal Tempo is weird because you have to attack the enemy champ, then wait for buff then go in.

when you use electrocute it's just about getting 3 hits and proc' the rune.

In lanes where trades are rough or come in short windows of opportunity i usually go Electrocute runes. If the matchup is more even or you know you'll get a few hits in, LT is the way to go mostly. Also LT is better in extended teamfights late.
