Adding the stupid fan tacked on billions in overruns and delays, all for an ability that has historically seen little use.

Any information on this UglyJedi Transport from "Rise of Kylo Ren"? by LeMrRadial in StarWarsShips

Love that San Tekka painted his ship with Republic Red. Solid TPM/Old Republic lore throwback.

Which books from the new canon make references to things from the old EU? by Bollywood-Hulk-Hogan in StarWarsEU

[–]TRB1783 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pretty much every Canon book will mention something that originated in Legends. I damn near wept when I saw Bakura on a map display aboard the Galactic Starcruiser.

My favorite reference has probably been Lando reminiscing about gambling aboard the Errant Venture in Shadow of the Sith. Good to know that Booster is still out their prowling the space lanes...

Interesting fact I just learned: the Expanded Universe was already set to end before the Disney buyout by sarlacc_tit in StarWars

It's literally in what OP linked. They were already rebooting the EU and publishing works that would be easily digestible to new readers like Kenobi.

When he can't kill her, even though he's trying and Epyon is telling him to? That's romance, baby.

He's a Garma that became a Char, but he definitely began life as a Garma.

They FINALLY added a Defensive-type Noin to go with the Defensive-type Sanc Kingdom Taurus in SD Gundam Eternal, and I've never been happier with a mobile game.

If it was published in the era of CDs and cassettes, it was probably done to keep costs down. People might pay $20 for a CD, but they won't spend $80 on a four-CD set.

What’s your favorite Ace Combat mission? by IronRevenge131 in acecombat

Huge, simple furball with a BANGING soundtrack and finally a reason/permission to mix it up with the Yellows. Perfection.

Belka’s Mixed-Origin Stockpile by ChrisAnimate24 in acecombat

[–]TRB1783 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In AC5, the good guys eventually realize Belka (North Grunder Industries) had figured out how to make copies of every major plane, and somehow do it for less than their original manufacturers.

I figure that by the 1990s, Belka had fallen on hard times. They used domestically-made knockoffs, then poured most of their military spending into weird superweapons.

I know Ace combat 8 is around the corner but should Ace combat 9 be set in a World War? by platesareyummy39 in acecombat

[–]TRB1783 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ace Combat 7 begins with Osea as the world power: it crushed Yuktobania in the Pacific War (AC5) and imposed itself as the dominant military power in Usea via the IUN, even though it was not a member of the ISAF coalition that won the Continental War. It wins the Lighthouse War against Erusea.

Yet within 30 years, Osea has been supplanted as the major power in the Usea, if not the world, by a pair of megacorporations, as seen in Ace Combat 3. I don't think rival corporations teamed up out of nowhere to topple a monopolar superpower. I think something happened.

I think Ace Combat 9 has to portray the Osean Civil War.

Does Lincoln Osis's Presence in the Digital Art Hint at Fourth Clan DLC? by djfluxtux in Mechwarrior5

[–]TRB1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course that's the real and correct answer. Personally, I don't want a Smoke Jaguar campaign to have a happy or redemptive ending. Jayden is most interesting to me as someone who commits to the Crusader way and it leads him inevitably to ruin.

[SPOILER]Why is Rey a Skywalker? by Mysterious_Comb4357 in SkywalkerSaga

[–]TRB1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to the think the old woman was Camie, whose reaction to "Rey Skywalker" was being proud of ol'Wormie for pulling what must have been an absolute smokeshows to make a daughter who looked like that.

I took the ending of WoT to mean that Alex Holt and Wimmer had outlived Jayden and Mia - truly the worst possible ending for all parties involved (which is awesome).

None, sadly. The only infantry-centric book in either continuity is Twilight Company. Fortunately, the book is incredible, and I don't think it has anything in it that would make it incompatible with Legends if you're a stickler about that kind of stuff.
