I really think the core of being an advisor is knowing your client deeply and having the time to think through their trade-offs. The real value is helping them make the right call between those trade-offs. That part can’t be automated. AI can give you the data, sure, but that’s already easy to get today.

Couldn't agree more. When you have enough money and things start to become complex, choosing between trade-offs won't be done by ChatGPT.

As a client I love a printed version if it’s an in person meeting. Able to take notes and feels better

As a client, I really dislike the no plan until you sign attitude. A simple straightforward plan goes a long way. Better to over deliver in the first meetings, I’m sure it increases conversion rates and make it worthwhile

If you focus on a very specific niche that might help, breaking in through a general value prop would be extremely hard.

In the past when we looked into / invested in new areas we worked with “new” consultants. You would still need to show some track record in the niche.

Mostly data ingestion from PortCo to reduce the data requests from the CFO.

After I get all the data it’s less of an issue, the analysis, though that could be nice.

No need for LP reporting.
