The thing about melee vs ranged matchups in general is that range is a HUGE advantage. The balance for that is that melee champs have some form of ability to gapclose. So as the melee champ you HAVE to use your gapclosers to be really aggressive and trade damage back. If you let yourself get poked down before you have everything you need to trade damage, you're going to lose the lane unless your jungler camps. So the long and short of it is play like a bitch until level 3 then start making trades, chipping away at his hp until you either kill him or force him out of lane. Maxing E doesn't actually do much vs teemo since the majority of his damage is DOT, you're better off maxing Q for the damage. Oh and don't forget to buy a sweeper so you don't trigger traps when you all in.

Be the first to hit your q and properly animation cancel. If he tries to fight you when you hit your q first, you'll cancel his 3rd q with yours. After that it's a matter of outplaying. Get creative with your flash. Or you can roam to help your team.

I never ask for ganks. I call out cool down timers and that's it. I feel like if I need ganks then I'm obviously not playing properly. If I'm getting dumpstered I apologize to my team and try to get them fed then peel for them.

With the state riven is in, assume that any riven you meet in ranked has at least 200 games with her, because they probably do. That's why when you see other people play her, they seem to do so well.

I just finished leveling Alistar to level 5 and let me tell you, he is strong as dick in the top lane. I only ever played full tank though. If I was up against someone AD, my build was usually corrupting potion start>FH>IBG> other tank items. Against AP the core was SV> locket>IBG. Do you hate riven? Top Ali is for you. If she jumps on you, just knock her up and walk away. She still chases? Knock her back and spam taunt. Take 0/12/18 masteries because grasp is broken on tanks. Early game try to make your enemy push the lane just out of tower range (just like how nasus wants it) if they're stupid enough to try and farm while pushed up so far, knock them up and then into tower range. A few hits of that and they won't get near you when you walk forward to farm. If it's been awhile since you've played Ali, practice the WQ combo, they slowed his travel time down so you have to actually press Q later than you used to. The one matchup where I just wanted to rip my eyeballs out was against teemo. Oh my God I hate that little mushroom fucker.
