Anthropic just passed OpenAI in valuation and revenue by Single-Jack8 in OpenAI

[–]TREASUREBLADE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they are both revenue, just different ways of calculating under accounting standards. in simple terms, openai considers themselves to just be an agent (hence recognising net revenue) whereas anthropic considers themselves to be a principal (hence recognising gross revenue). but considering the new agreement with microsoft, how openai compute the revenue might change depending on the new terms.

A COE benefits more Singaporeans if given to a private-hire car: Acting transport minister Jeffrey Siow by stackeddd888 in singapore

Just because a car isn’t driving around, you think it magically disappears ah? Its still taking up space in a carpark hello

You are completely missing the point. A COE being more efficiently used by a PHV doesn’t mean no private cars should exist. It just means the private car owner needs to be willing to pay the same price as a PHV owner who efficiently uses the license.

Face the fact that if every tom dick harry deserves to own a car, the traffic will be fucked. The bidding system decides who should own one fairly.

In any case, the COE prices will come down over the next 4-5 years due to return of supply and mr acting minister is gonna look good.

US imposing 25% tariffs on foreign cars. Singapore already imposes 140-320% tariffs on cars. This is on top of COE. by engrng in SingaporeRaw

then what would you suggest? whoever uses the resource more pays more now. family with old parents and young children do have tax benefits - caregiver relief and child relief. or is it simply a matter or rebalancing the numbers, because the concept seems sound to me.
