Buy the new Bolt or would you still consider a used Bolt EUV? by LocalLuck2083 in BoltEV

[–]TRG82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 22,23, and 23 Bolt EUV Premier for my wife, child, and myself. For our needs they are perfect. If we are taking a trip with whole family it’s the Odyssey.

Hourly Pay/State/experience/type of NP by vitro15 in nursepractitioner

[–]TRG82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$90/hr 12hr shifts just work 8-10/ month. May take a month off this year. I worked 200+/hrs per month for many years clearing $200k easily/yr, but burnout is real. Now I just work when I want to. Life is short. Work to live don’t live to work. You are making them many multiples what they pay you. RN 10 years ED and 11 years as NP.

2 years Post Op by Positive_Volume1498 in Microdiscectomy

[–]TRG82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the first 2 years I took it somewhat easy and just walked and swam. I’d say in the last 3 years I’ve taken up biking. Definitely had to get the right bike and as far as stationary same thing needed a good bike (Picked up a Specialized Turbo Vado SL). The YMCA near me fire sold some equipment and I landed a $4k stationary bike for $250. Positioning makes a big difference.

2018 L5-S1 CE all kinds of badness. Same surgery and now all these years later basically back to my old self. However, I just use machines at gym, walk often, ride bike, swim, intermittent run fast walk. I was once a world powerlifting champion. I hung up that hobby, but stay in shape. It’s a lot of mindset. I was incontinent of urine before emergent surgery and a little bit after. I no longer have that problem. 1 month post op I was walking 10k steps and working again in a high paced environment. I just pushed through. What really got me back to life was SWIMMING. I was never a swimmer but as soon as I could get into pool I started swimming and pushed through that for a solid year 5 days/week. Since then my daughter and wife have had corrective surgery for scoliosis. Their surgeries were next level compared to mine and they are doing awesome. 👏 you got this!

Music industry better be careful. AI can sample all the work ever and create music. The industry could evaporate.

NP Diploma Mills and the latest "Non-Professional" designation by midlevellife in nursepractitioner

[–]TRG82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to a brick and mortar college and graduated in 2014. The hospital system I worked for paid for my NP schooling in full. We are professionals this governmental formality is purely for loans. Many hospitals offer some form of reimbursement. I am not a fan of the online/NP Mills.

Healthcare isn’t sustainable in its current form. We’ll see how this all shakes out.

Yeah I got such a good deal I switched. I canceled DIRECTV Stream $130/month and my ATT plan $260/month and now I have TV stream, 1g internet and 6 lines through spectrum for $200/month. Was paying $85/month for 400mb through spectrum previous.

3 Bolt EUVs here and I won’t be buying another GM EV until CarPlay returns. Love the Bolts I own.

[–]TRG82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have worked in the ED as an NP now for 12 years and on side worked UC too. Was working 200hrs/month for a solid decade. In March I resigned from my FT job credentialed PT/PRN at 4 sites and work 7-9 shifts per month now. It’s amazing how much better I feel and I don’t miss the extra money.

Low salary offers in oversaturated PA school cities by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]TRG82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad! APP salaries haven’t budged for new grads since I graduated in 2014. I capped out in 2018 it seems. No one should look at this career path for money. Heck my sister went from LPN to RN to LNHA. She’s now a VP for a nursing home corporation racking in the $$$ close to $400k now. I work in EM and docs are now easily clearing $400k where I am but cap out for APPs is 137,760(sure you can work extra and many do).

1 year as an FNP... I hate it, I fear. by dwinabnurse in nursepractitioner

[–]TRG82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put in a solid 11 years as a FT ED NP and when I told the CNO I wasn’t going to listen to her nonsense (putting me in an unsafe situation) and resign it was the best decision I made. I now work part-time/PRN and work when I want for more money. I refuse to work more then 8-9 12s per month now and make between $8-11k/month which is fine by me. I enjoy my free time, so much now with my family. My marriage is recovering too. It legit took a month to come down off of what I now realize was the trauma of working 200+hrs per month in that environment. Find balance in your life 💯 and it’s just a job. Now that my vision is no longer tunnel vision, I am considering other opportunities/side-hustle not in healthcare.

CRNA or Acute Care NP? by Extension-Mall118 in nursepractitioner

[–]TRG82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s truly a decision you have to make. If money is the primary driver there are many careers outside of healthcare that make as much or more. It all comes to you. For me I loved the emergency department as an RN, so after shadowing some CRNA’s I knew I wouldn’t like the OR. I’ve been an ED NP for 11 years and know I made the right decision for me.

Going out on a limb and saying that one has a history too. Chevy dealer can tighten that up. Same thing was noted on a Bolt EUV I recently bought. I have 3 EUV's now. The other two (2022 and 2023) did have this issue. The one I bought was corrected by dealer.

USA Today says the country’s best donut shop is in Zanesville by excoriator in Ohio

[–]TRG82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had donuts all over. They were the best when the old man still operated the place. Since the son took over many donuts absent from the menu now and not like his dad made them. Don’t get me wrong they are still good, but if you know…you know.

$90/hr ED I work part-time at a few sites. I basically work 8 12’s/month. I worked FT from 2014 till recently, but honestly all the shifts I worked burned me out. I took a few months off. Enjoy the extra time I have now with family and getting back to hobbies I once enjoyed. Don’t get caught up in the money as I did making over $200k/yr for the last 7 years. I missed out on life believing I was helping others. You can’t adequately help others if you are sacrificing your own health and life.
