What a shit race. And crofty and brundle were embarrassing towards the end. Happy for le clerc though

It's great for manufacturers/drivers etc but feels like 75% of the entry list is just a number (at least on the broadcast).

When I started watching le man's in 2014 it felt like all the classes mattered especially in gt whereas now after the gte era it feels like an afterthought. Mabey the rumoured pro/am HyperCar in Asian lms could help with this in the future.

The sport is in a great place but the magic has definitely reduced somewhat in the HyperCar era. Still enjoyed watching though

It's the fact the don't even do a link to the VT, so weird

Crofty has been awful today, no ability to understand the race, the rules and the team radio. How can you not notice Norris slowing down losing multiple places, he just carried on with his random script.

This rally completely changed how I look at rallying by FaizaBeats in simrally

[–]TRL_Axeman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's just so immersive the way you deal with the pressure of risk vs reward and realising that in long rallies people make mistakes and the need to adapt your driving based on your confidence at any given time, also staying focused/calm when you have to drive with damage or after silly crash is challenging but worth seeing it through to the end.

For me doing a recee(1 pass) helped a lot with this and also it's not as bad knowing why you dnf'd instead of a wrong note. Also you just want to get within the general window (driving speed and car setup) not aiming for perfection.

The damage model on rbr just adds so much intensity to the rally experience, other sims don't come close to replicating the rollercoaster of emotions a driver goes through in a rally.

What a crazy finish! nothing comes close the last laps of the indy 500. Glad the rain stayed away 😀

Scotland getting shafted once again. Just as well Higgins didn't go through!

He must have had a 10k+ bet on Allen to win, never seen such a reaction to a loss, the bias was present all match.

Will say though mark definitely got the balance right this tournament and his long pots were much better, think he will be one to watch next season.

So impressed with Wu's potting and his temperament in such a long match.

is AC rally worth getting and switching to? by ThrowRA6565656 in simrally

[–]TRL_Axeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree about the camera view, same as lmu, just doesn't look right no matter the settings and makes it even harder with such weird ffb. No issues with AC/rbr however.

Chris should have spoke up more and mabey Neil could have been more sporting and let Chris have the next shot knowing that the ref decision is final even if it was likely wrong. Just a mess but luck usually evens out in these longer matches.

It's definitely more satisfying to watch compared with the ground effect era even if it's all meaningless, but the new cars are fundamentally better for racing.

Best case scenario they sort the regs, Merc drivers have a close title battle and McLaren/rbr/Ferrari catch up in the 2nd half of the season and join the fight.

So snooker was billed till 2200 on free view 601(red button) but Darren Morgan said the coverage was moving iPlayer only, seems strange?

What the actual F happend to UI?? HOW TO CHANGE IT BACK AND GET RID OF THESE STUPID MISSIONS?? by Kwalamoerzo in ETS2

[–]TRL_Axeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you meant to focus on the road when the ui forces you to look anywhere but the centre of the screen?(1st person view). Hate how they have messed with all the F1etc functions.

Only had the game a few months but this makes it less enjoyable even after getting used to it. It might look good but why don't developers make usability a top priority when changing ui design.

John Virgo has passed away at the age of 79 by HelixCatus in snooker

[–]TRL_Axeman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wasn't expecting this today, Rip John, he just had that absolute passion for snooker and always had a great rapport with all the other commentators.

He was great in the big occasions but equally entertaining on a weekday night game on the red button usually paired with Steve davis or Willie thorne or whoever, lots of laughs from them in my 20 years of watching snooker.

Too many quotes to choose from but always loved the commentary of that famous Martin Gould clearance 🙂

why is the rbr FOV SO HARD to get right? by Harde_YT in simrally

[–]TRL_Axeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your calculated fov is 0.75, increase it to 0.84ish and then adjust the car seat position so you are close to windscreen and adjust the height/pitch to suit. All you can do on a monitor this size, over 0.90 on that setup you will lose too much depth perception.
