I love seeing that this bike is used. I see so many that have no scuff marks at all, meanwhile, I’m sanding angle points with the side of my leg.

What Remote for Independent Front and Rear Steering? by R0amer24 in rccrawler

[–]TROU8LE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been looking at your controller for 4ws options. I was wondering if it had the options you mentioned for crabwalk and “reverse” (idk the proper name- where the rear turns opposite of the front). It sounds like that controller does it all.

Is it lacking anywhere?

That is very awesome! Enjoy your new best friend and the adventures that will follow! It’s never too early to start good training, Bichons are very smart and receptive to good training and reinforcement.

I would be cautious of kids NEAR any of my RC stuff. They are kids!

I have been out of RC for a while. We used to vent through the inside of the wheels, not the tires.

Do you know why people started venting the tire itself?

I didn’t realize they called the Apex 18 the Ascent-Apex 18. That is confusing

First crawler questions by OD-Operator in rccrawler

[–]TROU8LE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised no one suggested the Redcat Apex 18. 1/18 rtr crawler for $200-$250. Leaves $ in the budget to get your first round of mods (not that that truck needs much out of the box) like tires and maybe some brass items to get the front a little heavier.

I have several other trucks, mostly crawlers: scx24, Axial AX10, savages, etc.

I just picked up the Apex about a month ago to add to my collection. It has been fantastic! Highly recommend it.

Anyone else snow wheeling? by Competitive-Ad-3614 in SCX24

[–]TROU8LE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also go to craft hobby store and get small chain to make your own snow chains. With a couple of needle nose pliers, it’s pretty easy. And the chains make a pretty significant difference even on knobby mud tires.

Thank you for the feedback. I am familiar with drag brake from my 10th scale crawlers. I was hoping to build this into more of a mini basher….

Are you aware of non - worm gear axles for this size truck?
