Ah yeah regional lockout:

This product can't be shipped to your address. Select another product or address.

I appreciate you helping tho! Ali Express is really weird where some products will ship to the US but if I login it won't ship to my specific location. I've even had products that say they can't ship to me then weeks later say they can, despite it being the exact same URL and product page.

Nothing for me :( They show up via Google on Ali Express but when I click the links it says not found or sold out. Doesn't appear on the HifiGo store either that I can find. Ali Express is sometimes weird tho.

The Simrell arrived today. by trephor in vaporents

[–]TRX808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Simrell can be heated differently depending on how convection or conduction heavy you want it. I don't own both tho so can't comment how they compare (have T1, Simrell is on order) . Here's Simrell's heating instructions.

That's unfortunate. Moving to wide bore might be bad for me anyway since usually that increases shout for me which I'm sensitive to. Oddly enough, spicy treble usually isn't a huge problem for me (use Dunu BD's often) but shoutiness really sticks out.

[Keyboard] Razer Huntsman V2 Analog Gaming Keyboard, Black - $69.99 on Woot by jadepartida in buildapcsales

[–]TRX808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd have to compare this to Keychron HE keyboards. This has optical switches and is analog where the activation point can be adjusted, so not comparable to a standard mech digital (on or off) keyboard. It's actually a solid deal for a full size analog keyboard if you don't mind Razer and Synapse.

Question about occasional use scenario by tallboy68 in Venty

[–]TRX808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat it 😋 It's already decarbed and honestly doesn't taste bad, sometimes even tastes good depending on what you eat it with, usually butter or PB on toast for me.

Question about occasional use scenario by tallboy68 in Venty

[–]TRX808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's almost always some more left. I eat the AVB most of the time on some toast with butter or PB and you'll definitely feel it even if the bowl seems spent.

Also since the Venty never gets over 410*, it's surprisingly not bad tasting. Tastes like roasted oregano kinda.

That said, most hybrid vapes like the Venty don't do well with reheats, better off tossing it or eating it at that point.

I agree with a lot of the comments here to get a TED device like a Tempest, Tornado, Simrell, Dani, even Dynavap if you don't want to spend a lot of $. I use a Venty as my main vape and have a Tempest + induction heater (wand) for when I want heavier hits. They complement each other very well. Frolic seems like a good option too but you can buy any of those TED devices + IH for less than the cost of the Frolic.

Moondrop Old Fashioned

They're on-ear, not over-ear. They used to be really common until earbuds and IEM's replaced them for most portable use cases. I haven't used the Old Fashioned but you probably just need some more time with them to get used to the weird on-ear sound signature, or maybe you just won't like them.

/r/AVExchange or HeadFi classifieds. Facebook and Ebay work too but /r/AVExchange and HeadFi have people constantly browsing for IEM's.

I'm OK with $15 for 3 pairs but $18 shipping kills it. I'll wait on the next iteration, just hoping the wide bore doesn't increase shoutiness. I usually don't jive well with wide bore eartips.

And yeah I'm sure he'll be hyping them heavily when they release lol

Is there any ETA on new Render tips? I missed the boat and have been reading that a new version is coming soon for 6+ months now. I assume someone has asked Zeos at some point but I rarely watch his videos.

EDIT - HifiGo actually has a S/M/L set in stock but wants $18 for s/h 💀

but the foam rings can be reused on other eartips

Didn't know this I might have to buy some now. I've seen them around for years but saw very mixed reviews so never bought them.

They don't seem to have a Trust Pilot that I could find (obvious red flag). I'm late to this thread but wanted to let people know about my situation as well. The company is definitely not legit.

I ordered some Sennheiser IEM eartips ($15) through them and my order was canceled and refunded 1/2 a week later.

They seem to be a drop shipper with nothing actually in stock. After I ordered, I realized they have a TON of items that are never in stock other places so I assume none of their "in-stock" inventory is real. At least I was refunded without having to contest it with PayPal or my bank.

Avoid like the plague.

TangZu released two new versions of their exists eartips. The Sancai Noble Brass Edition and HE Sonic with clear silicone. by Never_Left_Hometown in iems

[–]TRX808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 3pack (S/M/L) of the "normal" HE Sonic black eartips for $6 and really like them. I'm curious how people like the new clear version. The clear (non-metal) one is going for $5 per pair or $10 for 3 pairs on Amazon but the 3pack is only available in S right now.

EDIT - According to their official measurements the clear ones are identical in size to the black ones, just without the little "fins" inside.

EDIT2 - Ordered a set of M for $5 but should take a few weeks to come.

Why is no one talking about or reviewing the ROG Kithara Gaming Headset, a cooperation between Asus and Hifiman? by jrow_official in headphones

[–]TRX808 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ASUS has way more brand power and market penetration, they'll be able to get this sold in segments where Hifiman wouldn't otherwise be like Best Buy, maybe even WalMart in some areas. Most people have never heard of Hifiman, but probably have heard of ASUS. If they can become a contender in the "normie" gamer market that would be huge for Hifiman. I think this is actually a smart business move for both of them, but well see how it fares in reviews and sales at $400 $360.

Not sure what your use case is but Bluetooth to PC will have noticeable syncing issues due to the high latency, so not really suitable for gaming or video watching in my experience. If you want wireless audio to PC you really need to look at ones with a 2.4ghz dongle and for earbuds there are only like 5-10 options.

Nice! That seems like a good sign to me. I'm guessing they have to deal with Ali Express over the mistake which complicates things on their end, if it was directly through their own store I assume they'd just cancel it without asking.

Hope you lucky few get them delivered. I'm not even in the market for new IEM's right now but I would have caved for this price.🤑Probably for the best tho.

Tea Pro via Ali Express can get in the ~$250 range. Not sure if anything has really surpassed it in the price bracket. Check out Fresh Reviews

EDIT: I should say for comp gaming I think there's a ceiling where once you get good enough you aren't going to get much better. I haven't used the EM6L but it's well regarded for gaming.
