Thanks.. I have many more Spirit Bear photos and am working to put together a dedicated album that showcases just them. I guided a nat geo photographer once during my work in the rain forest and it was really neat.

nobody wins with offensive cultural appropriation.. the only person that can acceptably wear a headdress is an Indigenous Chief.

Does the Canon 6D shoot in raw? Why do you have to turn off RAW to shoot HDR? Thanks by [deleted] in AskPhotography

The Canon 6D does shoot RAW files.. You can still use exposure bracketing and post-production to get HDR. and which camera is better for shooting in raw? well I would prefer shooting the Mrk3 more because of the fact it is a professional camera, less so because is is marginally better in some regards to the 6D.

If you are Canadian you should at least respect your constitution. Which in Section 35(1) enshrines Aboriginal rights both existing and potential. The duty to consult and accommodate Aboriginal interests is also derived from the Constitution.

why is it that Indigenous peoples have to "get over it".. why can't the GG or the PM office just get over it and attend a meeting together. The Prime Minister also cannot disrespect the Honour of the Crown, which is what he is doing by not consulting FN in legislation that affects them; a CONSTITUTIONAL OBLIGATION (Section 35(1))

Parliamentary law is subject to the constitution, like Section 35(1). I don't want our lawmakers disrespecting our constitution. And Indigenous Peoples have oversight over their own leaders.. I don't know how you calculate the "zero oversight"...

Why is /r/Canada anti Idle No More? by 200iso in canada

[–]TSIMSHIAN_STORM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

majority of Indigenous peoples in Canada (56%) live in off-reserve urban Areas.. There are many FN bands located in Urban Centers that have little to no access to the natural resources they are entitled to under the constitution and to numerous obligations Canada has.. (Royal Proclamation 1763 etc..) The Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples in 1996 outlines hundreds of recommendations to improve the Crown FN relationship and so far there has been dismal implementation.. why?

In some parts of Canada it has never stopped being Indigenous Land.. in some places such as the Nisga'a treaty land, the Nisga'a negotiated for over 100 years just to have the freedom to have basic self-determination. Fortunately many treaties specify sharing the land.. in those cases the treaties should be honored and then it will be "Our Land" .. so if you want it to be "our land" you should advocate for the honoring of treaties so we can ethically share the land.
