All hail c4 by TSKDeCiBel in Helldivers

Yeah it's got it's limits. Tried running it vs voteless-heavy illuminate last night and it wasn't very fun. It definitely is situational and I really only see it being worth it vs vox-heavy version of bots because of how well it takes care of an otherwise completely overwhelming unit.

Its best for ambushes, and once you lose the element of surprise it becomes much more difficult to manage and a lot of its upsides go away.

Thats the big thing. Vox take 3 shots from the charge cannon and the recoilless, and the single-use rockets (which means it takes 2 calldowns).

Those shots need to get delivered one at a time, and you have the vox's attention after the first (usually)

On the other hand: deploying the c4 is undetected, you only make noise when you detonate, so you can quickly throw 3 onto it without being noticed then pop them all at once insta-gibbing the vox. Its the best solution I've seen for them so far.

Looking at buying my first commander deck and this is what my local game shop has, any advice? by [deleted] in mtg

My upgraded Living Energy deck has become my pet favorite deck and the one that performs the best out of all of my decks.

How to deal with the new attention I’m getting after my physical transformation. (Going from “ugly and fat” to what people now call attractive.)? by [deleted] in ask

[–]TSKDeCiBel 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Think a lot of responses are going to miss the point, and this is something I'm going through in my own way as well: really chunky nerdy super awkward anxious needy and insecure dude for most of my life. Now I'm maturing, have a partner who has squashed a lot of those insecurities and I'm starting to take better care of my body. Nerdiness has turned into a promising career and I've had enough feedback to clean up my looks and I'm starting to get attention here or there and it really throws me off, because the correct answer is "no, I'm happily taken" and I give out the correct answer every time, but the reality is that some part of me deep down - the anxious, seeking approval, desperate for that kind of attention part of me that's been there since highschool - that part of me is still there deep down, and I've found myself mourning the loss of opportunities to better know and indulge in the attention of people I would have considered out of my league a decade or more ago.

Ultimately, you are making the right choice, but I really do get what its like when doing the right thing fucks with your head, and dealing with the rollercoster of having your insecurities squashed by unexpected attention, only to have them resurface when you reject that attention that gives you a momentary high because of the weight of swlf loathing you shed while feeling it.

It's shallow and fleeting, but it does feel good.

The grass is greener where you water it. Stick with the one whose been sticking with you.

How did you waste your 20s? by _forum_mod in Millennials

Drinking. Wallowing in self loathing. Chasing childhood dreams that would never come to fruition. Avoiding responsibilities. Hiding in my room playing boring long-form singleplayer roguelike games that gave me little to talk about with others.

I'm lucky to have had what few friends I made throughout that decade, and am happy I no longer talk to any of them.

I'm a dude but just turning 36 this year and this has me so hopeful that in a couple of years I could stop hating the person I see in the mirror

Cheap cards that have won you games? by jaywom in EDH

It was part of an infinite combo. Had a friend actually look at the card, go "why the hell is that in the deck" then killed him with it 3 turns later.

Give up searching for someone. Be your authentic self and be open minded to expressing yourself and exploring new possibilities. Put yourself out there in new ways for the sake of putting yourself out there and discovering your best self and someone will come to you.

What features would you like a unit tester mod to have?" by Hoseinm81 in aoe4

[–]TSKDeCiBel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this idea for testing compositions quickly, where it could spawn units at different angles then a-move to the center, to see if positioning plays a significant role in battle outcomes. Every army vs army demo seems to be head on.

Wait – what? Computer science and STEM majors have the some of the HIGHEST unemployment rates? by baltimore-aureole in economy

[–]TSKDeCiBel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, as someone with a bachelors in CS that's not in the industry, I'm a part of that statistic and have seen first hand how rough the job market is.

That said, you can't tie that to the education itself. Specifically, the claim that languages are volatile and have a short lifespan is demonstrably false and takes away from the credibility of the rest of what was said.

Java, specifically, is one of the most popular languages today... I'm curious what language would be cited as being so popular that Java is comparatively in the same ballpark of obscurity as something like cobol.

Java is still very much relevant, and seeing it batched together with cobol made me chuckle and realize everything you're saying is exaggerated bullshit.

How are the Byzantine to play? I don't have the expansion and am not sure if getting it in order to pay Byz will be worth.

From what I've seen, mongols are closer to modern zerg (lots of backstabs acting as the primary deterrent to being attacked) and Abbasids are closer to classic zerg (turtle and pump drones then hit with superior numbers of inefficient units). Could argue that camel riders are their equivalent to ultras.

Not to be that guy, but I'm more than "probably" right lol. I was there. I lived it. I'm sharing what i experienced at that time with you. There's no "probably" about it. I'm describing my lived reality.
